Description
【0001】

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, in the conventional split type optical fiber ribbon, the contact area between the bonding material and the optical fiber ribbon is small, so that the coupling force between the optical fiber ribbons is weak. Therefore, there is a possibility that unnecessary division of the cords may occur.
[0005]
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned problems of the prior art, and a split type optical fiber capable of splitting adjacent optical fiber tape cores only when necessary, that is, only when an intended stress is applied. It is an object to provide a fiber tape.
[0006]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
According to the present invention, a plurality of optical fiber tape cores provided with a common protective coating on the outer periphery of a plurality of parallel optical fiber strands are arranged in parallel, and each of these optical fiber tape cores is inserted into a gap between the optical fibers. In the split-type optical fiber ribbons formed by joining with a bonding material filled into the tape and forming into a tape shape having substantially the same thickness, the thickness of the opposing edges of each of the optical fiber ribbons is set at the center. The common protective coating is formed so as to be thinner than the above. In particular, in this case, the common protective coating of each of the optical fiber tapes has at least one flat portion parallel to the arrangement direction of the respective optical fiber wires, and each of the flat portions has the same flat surface. Preferably, the optical fiber tapes are arranged in parallel. According to
[0007]
[Action]
In the split-type optical fiber ribbon according to the present invention, the common optical fiber tape is used so that the mutually opposing edges of the optical fiber ribbon are thinner than those at the center. Is formed, the contact area of each optical fiber tape core with the bonding material increases, and the bonding strength between adjacent optical fiber tape cores increases. Therefore, unnecessary core division does not occur when a cable is used. On the other hand, when necessary, for example, when branching processing is performed after the cable is formed, a required core can be divided by applying an appropriate external force.
[0008]
In particular, the common protective coating of each optical fiber tape has at least one flat portion parallel to the arrangement direction of each optical fiber strand, and each flat portion is coplanar. When the optical fiber tape cores are arranged side by side, the occurrence of axial misalignment of the optical fiber tape cores is prevented, and the appearance and characteristics of the individual optical fiber strands arranged on the same plane are excellent. .

The embodiments described above are all examples in which the present invention is applied to a split-type optical fiber tape having a structure in which two optical fiber tapes are integrated in parallel. However, the present invention is not limited to such an embodiment, and three or more optical fiber tapes are integrated in parallel, or three or more optical fiber tapes. The same effects can be obtained by applying the present invention to a device in which the components are integrated in parallel. Figure 5 (a) ~ (c) is a diagram showing such an example. Also in this figure, the same reference numerals are given to the parts common to FIG. 1, 11 is an optical fiber, 12 is a common protective coating, 13 is an optical fiber tape, and 14 is a bonding material. is there.
[0020]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, the split-type optical fiber ribbons of the present invention have respective optical fiber tapes arranged in parallel such that the opposing edges of the respective optical fiber tapes are thinner than the central portion. Since the common protective coating is formed, the contact area between the bonding material for connecting the optical fiber tape cores and each optical fiber tape core increases, and the coupling force between the optical fiber tape cores increases. I do. Therefore, it is possible to prevent unnecessary division of the core fiber at the time of conversion into a cable or the like, and it is possible to divide the optical fiber tape cores only when necessary.
[0021]
Here, the common protective coating of each optical fiber tape has at least one flat portion parallel to the arrangement direction of each optical fiber strand, and these flat portions form the same plane. When the optical fiber tapes are arranged in parallel as described above, the axis deviation of the optical fiber tape at the time of manufacturing is prevented, and the optical fibers are arranged on the same plane. Those having excellent characteristics can be stably obtained.
