Description
【0001】
例えば、ITU−R656(国際電気通信連合 勧告第656号)「INTERFACES FOR DIGITAL VIDEO SIGNALS IN 525−LINE AND 625−LINE TELEVISION SYSTEMS」の規格に従うデジタル映像データを扱う場合には、インタレース方式によって映像が表示される。
【0003】
図2に示すデジタル映像データは、ITU−R656(国際電気通信連合 勧告第656号)「INTERFACES FOR DIGITAL VIDEO SIGNALS IN 525−LINE AND 625−LINE TELEVISION SYSTEMS」の規格に従うデジタル映像データである。
【0022】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a video display device that handles digital video data transferred to a display device or a system having a display control function, a video signal control method applied to the video display device, and a recording medium.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Generally, in a video display device, a display method is specified by digital video data to be handled. For example, when digital video data conforming to the standard of ITU-R656 (International Telecommunication Union Recommendation No. 656) "INTERFACES FOR DIGITAL VIDEO SIGNALS IN 525-LINE AND 625-LINE TELEVISION SYSTEMS" is used, the video is interlaced. Is displayed.
[0003]
FIG. 4 shows a partial configuration of digital video data in the above-described standard. In the data for one scanning line, in addition to the active video data actually used, a synchronization code indicating the start and end of the active video data and blanking data are embedded.
[0004]
The synchronization code is composed of 4 bytes, and the first to third bytes are fixed at “FFh 00h 00h”, and the fourth byte is as shown in FIG. The most significant bit (bit 7) in the byte shown in FIG. 4 is fixed at "1".
[0005]
The interlace method is a method of sequentially displaying odd-numbered field scanning lines and then displaying even-numbered field scanning lines, or sequentially displaying even-numbered field scanning lines and then displaying odd-numbered field scanning lines. Every other day. The interlace method has a feature of reducing flicker when displaying a moving image, but when displaying a video using a high-definition or high-resolution display device, the roughness of the video is conspicuous. I will.
[0006]
On the other hand, as a display method for performing high-quality display using a high-definition or high-resolution display device, there is a progressive scan method in which scanning lines are sequentially scanned from top to bottom. When displaying an image using the progressive scan method, it is necessary to perform data transfer using digital image data for the progressive scan method which is different from the above-described standard.
[0007]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
As described above, in the conventional video display device, the display system is determined by the digital video data to be handled. Therefore, even if a high-definition or high-resolution display device suitable for the progressive scan system is used, the above-described ITU- In the case of handling digital video data conforming to the standard of R656 (International Telecommunication Union Recommendation No. 656), only the interlaced display was possible.
[0008]
Further, since the display system is determined by the digital video data to be handled, only the video display using the same display system can be performed regardless of the content of the video material.
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and a video output device and a video output device capable of performing display with good quality according to a situation using a plurality of display methods using digital video data conforming to one standard. An object is to provide an output method, a video transmission device, and a video transmission method .
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention includes means for adding identification information indicating a display method for each scanning line to digital video data, and means for outputting digital video data to which the identification information has been added.
[0013]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing the system configuration of the video display device according to the present embodiment. The video display device according to the present embodiment is realized by a computer that reads a program recorded on a recording medium such as a CD-ROM, a DVD, and a magnetic disk, and whose operation is controlled by the program.

[0022]
FIG. 2 shows a data format other than blanking data for one scanning line. A synchronization code is added to each of the start and end of the video data, and identification information (identification data T) indicating a display method is provided in the fourth byte of the code.
[0023]
FIG. 3 shows the fourth byte of the synchronization code. The most significant bit (bit 7) in the byte shown in FIG. 3 is fixed data that has no meaning in the standard. However, in the present embodiment, the most significant bit (bit 7) is handled as identification data T in the standard of the digital video data. To switch between two different display methods. In the present embodiment, when the value of the identification data T is “1”, the interlace method is indicated, and when the value of T is “0”, the progressive scan method is indicated.
[0024]
Next, the operation in the present embodiment will be described.
In FIG. 1, a medium 20 is, for example, a DVD-ROM, on which digital data of a video signal such as a movie is recorded.

In this way, data which has been conventionally treated as fixed data and has no meaning in the standard is treated as identification data T indicating the interlace system or the progressive scan system, so that one digital video data conforming to the standard can be used. It is possible to switch the display method. Therefore, even if two different display methods are used, only one data transfer path is required.
[0031]
In the case where the video material is single (movie or the like), when displaying the video, one of the interlace system and the progressive scan system may be used. After the display method is determined based on the value set in the identification data included in the (for example, the first) synchronization code, the identification data T set in each synchronization code is not determined. Is also good.

When the video material includes different types of contents, the
[0033]
For example, if the video material includes an image shot by an interlaced camera and an image shot by a progressive scan camera, the same display method as that used at the time of shooting is used. In this case, it is possible to display an image in accordance with the quality that should originally exist.
[0034]
Therefore, when video data suitable for different display methods are mixed, identification data T indicating a display method corresponding to each of the display data is added to a synchronization code that is continuous with the corresponding video data. The display system can be dynamically switched according to the value of the identification data T by using the
[0035]
When the ITU-R656 standard is used for the digital TV, the display method can be switched as described above by applying the present invention.
Note that the method described in the above-described embodiment can be executed on a recording medium such as a magnetic disk (floppy disk, hard disk, etc.), an optical disk (CD-ROM, DVD, etc.), a semiconductor memory, or the like as a program that can be executed by a computer. It can be written and provided to various devices. Further, it is also possible to transmit the data via a communication medium and provide the data to various devices. The computer that realizes the present apparatus reads the program recorded on the recording medium or receives the program via the communication medium, and executes the above-described processing by controlling the operation of the program.
[0036]
【The invention's effect】
As described above in detail, according to the present invention, digital video data is added with identification information indicating a display method and transmitted, and the display method is switched based on the identification information added to the transmitted digital transmission data. Since the video is displayed, it is possible to display the video using a plurality of display methods using digital video data that is transferred by one data transfer path and conforms to one standard.
