この発明は、上述の如き課題を解決するために、次の様な技術的手段を講ずる。すなわち、原動機1と、該原動機1の動力が伝動されて駆動回転する走行車輪8と、ゲージ車輪13と、ハンドル3と、刈刃装置7とを備えた草刈機において、前記走行車輪8は幅広に形成してその左右両端部に大径部9,9を形成すると共に、その左右中間部には前記大径部9,9より幅広で且つ段差を有して小径となるラグ10付の小径部を形成し、前記刈刃装置7は、前記走行車輪8の前側に配置し、前記ハンドル3は、前記走行車輪8より後方に延長し、前記ゲージ車輪13は、前記走行車輪8より幅狭に形成するとともに、前記刈刃装置7の前方位置と前記走行車輪8の後方位置とに位置変更可能に設けたことを特徴とする草刈機としたものである。
