2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, an image is recorded on the front surface of one sheet of recording paper and then fixed, and then the recording paper is reversed and re-fed. There are many known double-sided copying apparatuses that record images on both sides.
As the configuration of the double-sided copying apparatus, an image is recorded on the surface of the recording paper and then fixed, the recording paper is reversed by a recording paper reversing mechanism, and the recording paper is temporarily accumulated in a stacking unit. Next, the accumulated recording sheets are sequentially conveyed to the transfer unit, and after the images are recorded on the back side, they are fixed and discharged.

In such a double-sided copying mechanism, the mechanism for reversing and re-feeding the recording paper can be formed in a small size, and even if it is built in the copying machine, it does not require so much space. However, it is difficult to miniaturize the mechanism of the stacking unit that temporarily stacks the recording paper after reversing and re-feeding the recording paper, and it is necessary to provide a large space in the copying apparatus to incorporate the stacking unit.

Therefore, there is a drawback that the entire copying apparatus becomes large. Therefore, as a means for providing a stacking unit for recording paper without increasing the size of the copying apparatus, a means for providing a stacking unit for stacking recording paper by utilizing a part of the sorter position that is now attached to the paper discharge unit is proposed. Has been done. As such means, Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 59-166248 and Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 61-10907.
No. 1 and No. 61-130128 are known. By using the sorter position in this way, it is possible to prevent the copying machine from increasing in size.

As described above, when the double-sided copying mechanism is provided in the copying machine, the entire copying machine becomes large by incorporating the recording paper reversing mechanism and the recording paper stacking mechanism.
Therefore, as described above, a part of the sorter position must be utilized, a recording paper stacking portion must be provided, and means for inverting the recording paper must be provided in the copying apparatus. In this case, a user who does not need a sorter often purchases a useless device. Further, since a part of the sorter is used, it is necessary to reduce the number of sorter discharge trays to be installed, and thus it is necessary to reduce the number of recording sheets to be discharged.

Further, in the conventional double-sided copying apparatus, the recording sheets are once stacked and accumulated on the stack section of the recording sheets, and the recording sheets are re-fed from the stack section. There are drawbacks such that other recording papers are adhered and dirty, or recording papers are adhered to each other during re-feeding to cause double paper feeding, which easily causes a jam.

In the eighth aspect of the present invention, the pressurizing means suspends a wire-shaped member at both extreme end positions of the pair of recording paper pinching and conveying means, and fixes one end of the wire-shaped member to the apparatus main body. However, by providing an elastic member at the other end, a plurality of recording paper holding / conveying means composed of a pair are brought into contact with each other. Since the supporting guide means can be moved while holding the contact state of No. 2 and holding one end of the recording paper, the recording paper for double-sided copying can be sequentially and accurately conveyed in reverse. Therefore, the recording paper does not drop out, and all the recording papers are reliably re-fed.
