【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、自動車用のコンビ
ネーションメータ等の文字板構造に関する。

【従来の技術】従来のこの種の文字板構造としては、例
えば図6に示すようなものがある。即ち、図6(a)は
コンビネーションメータの一部断面図を示したもので、
ケース1上に文字板固定用ボス3が一体に突設され、図
6(a)、図6(b)のように該文字板固定用ボス3に
は、頂部に文字板5の受け面7が設けられ、受け面7に
位置決め用突起9が一体に突設されている。
【0003】前記文字板5には、位置決め穴11が設け
られ、該位置決め穴11が前記位置決め用突起9に嵌合
し、裏面5aが前記受け面7で支えられている。
【0004】一方、前記ケース1上には、光源13が取
付けられている。前記文字板5の裏面5a側には、図示
はしないがメータ駆動用のムーブメント等が設けられて
おり、前記光源13は文字板5からオフセットした位置
に配置されている。
【0005】そして、前記光源13から前記文字板5の
裏面5a側に光を照射して、文字板5の表面5b側を明
るくし、夜間等の視認性を向上させるようにしている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】しかしながら、上記の
ように、光源13が文字板5からオフセットして配置さ
れているため、光源13からの光が図6(a)の矢印A
などのように、文字板固定用ボス3で反射し、文字板5
の裏面5aに届かない部分を生じ、しかもこの部分は文
字板固定用ボス3が図6(b)のように太い円柱形状を
呈しているため、文字板5の裏面5aに光の届かない部
分が図6(c)の領域Bのように広い範囲に及び、文字
板5の表面5b側の全体の明るさに大きなムラを生じる
原因となっていた。
【0007】かかる問題に対し、文字板固定用ボス3の
位置と、光源13の位置との配置を変更したり、光源1
3の数を増やすことなどが考えられるが、文字板固定用
ボス3と光源13との配置の変更にはスペース的に大き
な制約を伴い、その配置の変更が難しいものとなってい
た。
【0008】また、光源13の数を増やすと、部品点数
が増大するばかりでなく、やはりスペース的にも困難を
伴い、大きな制約を招くものとなっていた。
【0009】本発明は、配置の変更、部品点数の増大を
伴わず、文字板の明るさのムラを抑制することのできる
文字板構造の提供を課題とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】請求項1の発明は、ケー
ス上に突設された文字板固定用ボスに、透光性のある文
字板を取りつけ、前記ケース上に取り付けた光源から前
記文字板の裏面側に光を照射して該文字板の表面側を明
るくする文字板構造において、前記文字板固定用ボス
は、前記ケース上に一体に立設され前記光源の照射方向
に沿って薄肉状に形成される支持片と、該支持片の頂部
に一体に設けられ前記文字板を前記支持片の断面積より
も大きい受け面で支える文字板受け部と、該文字板受け
部の受け面上に一体に突設され前記文字板の位置決め穴
に嵌合する位置決め用突起とよりなることを特徴とす
る。

【発明の実施の形態】図1,図2は、本発明の一実施形
態を示している。図1(a)は、本発明の一実施形態を
適用した要部断面図であり、図2は光源との関係で示す
要部の拡大断面図である。尚、図6で説明した構成と対
応する構成部分には同符号を付して説明し、また重複し
た説明は省略する。
【0014】本発明の実施形態において特徴的な部分
は、文字板固定用ボス3にあるが、まず周辺を概略的に
説明すると、文字板固定用ボス3によって透光性のある
文字板5が取り付けられている。文字板5には透光性の
あるスペーサ15を介し、指針駆動用のムーブメント1
7がビス19によって固定されている。

特徴的な部分は、文字板固定用ボス3にあり、前記図1

用突起9が一体に突設されたものである。

aの頂部に一体に設けられている。前記ケース1には、
前記文字板受け部3bに対向して型抜き用の穴1aが設

に半円状に形成されるものである。

れ、文字板固定用ボス3を前記形状に容易に成形するこ

になることはなく、文字板5の表面5bを略ムラなく明
るくすることができる。従って、コンビネーションメー
タの視認性を著しく向上させることができる。

【発明の効果】請求項1の発明では、光源からの光が文
字板固定用ボスに遮られることなく、その薄肉状の支持
片に沿って光が進み、文字板の裏面側に照射することが
できる。従って、文字板の表面側を略ムラなく明るくす

ができる。又、文字板固定用ボスと光源との配置関係を

源の数を増大する必要がなく、部品点数増大を抑制する
