動販売機に搭載し、コールド飲料販売時に定量の氷片を
搬出してカップに供給するオーガー式製氷機、詳しくは
製氷機の貯氷室の構造に関する。 【0002】 【従来の技術】頭記したオーガー式製氷機は周知であ
り、その構成は基本的に図1と同様である。すなわち、
オーガー式製氷機は、オーガー(スクリュウ状の回転式
切削刃)1を内蔵した製氷部2と、製氷部2に上部に連
結した貯氷室3と、駆動モータ4との組立体からなり、
製氷部2のエバポレータ壁面に薄く着氷したフレーク状
の氷をオーガー1で削り取りながら上方に送り、固定刃
5で圧縮してスティック状に固めた後、その出口端の切
断部で短く折ってチップ状の氷片6を作り、貯氷室3に
送り込んでここに貯える。 【0003】一方、貯氷室3は断面円形状の断熱容器と
してなり、その下部周面に開口した氷片出口に搬出扉7
を備えるとともに、容器内にはオーガー1の上端に連結
した縦軸の回転軸8から放射状に複数本のアームが突き
出た氷片攪拌/搬出用のアジテータ9,および底面側に
配した簀の子(氷片が溶けたドレン水を水切りする役目
を果たす)10を備えており、さらに容器の上蓋11に
は検知ディスク12、および検知スイッチ13を設けて
貯氷量を検知するようにしている。 【0004】かかる構成で、製氷動作中にはオーガー1
と連動して回転するアジテータ9が貯氷室3内に貯えた
氷片6を攪拌し、氷片同士が溶着して大きな氷塊になる
のを防ぐようにしており、製氷動作が進んで貯氷量が所
定の量に達すると検知スイッチ13の信号で駆動モータ
4が停止して製氷動作を中断する。また、カップ式飲料
自動販売機の販売動作に連係して製氷機に氷片搬出指令
が与えられると、駆動モータ4が始動してアジテータ9
を回転しつつ、同時にソレノイド7aの操作で搬出扉7
を所定時間だけ開放し、氷片出口を通じてアジテータ9
が氷片6を掻き出す。なお、氷片出口から搬出した氷片
6はシュータ(図示せず)を経て飲料カップに投入され
る。そして、貯氷量で下限レベル以下に減少すると、検
知スイッチ13の信号で製氷動作を再開する。 【0005】 【発明が解決しようとする課題】ところで、前記のオー
ガー式製氷機について、従来の設計では、貯氷室3の内
周壁面とアジテータ9のアーム先端との間の遊び間隙を
可能な限り小さく抑えてアジテータの攪拌作用が貯氷室
の内周壁面近くまで及ぶようにし、逆にアジテータ9の
アームと室内の底面側に配した簀の子10との間にはア
ジテータ9との直接的な干渉を回避するために十分な遊
び間隙を設定するようにしており、具体的には氷片6の
1個の大きさをAとして、貯氷室3の内周壁面とアジテ
ータ9のアーム先端との間の間隙BをB<A,アジテー
タ9のアームと室内の底面側に配した簀の子10との間
の間隙CをC>Aとなるように設定していた。 【0006】しかしながら、各地のロケーション先に設
置した自動販売機の使用実績から得た知見によれば、製
氷機に次に記すような問題点のあることが判明した。す
なわち、製氷機の製氷水として使う水道の水質は自動販
売機のロケーション先の地方によって様々であり、特に
水中に溶存不純物,溶存空気が多い水質の水を使って製
氷した氷片は強度が小さくなり、貯氷中に僅かな加重が
加わっても氷片が簡単に細かく砕けてしまう。しかも、
細かく砕けた氷片は外部から断熱材を通して貯氷室に侵
入する熱により溶け易く、これにより氷片同士が溶着し
た大きな氷塊が生成する。 【0007】これに対して、従来の製氷機では先記のよ
うに貯氷室3の内周壁面とアジテータ9のアーム先端と
の間の遊び間隙が氷片1個分の大きさよりも小さく設定
されているために、貯氷室内でアジテータを回転すると
アーム先端と貯氷室の内壁面との間に挟まれた氷片6が
細かく砕けてしまい、その結果として貯氷中に細かく砕
けた氷片6同士が溶着し合って大きな氷塊となり易くな
る。また、アジテータ9のアームと室内の底面側に配し
た簀の子10との間の間隙Cは逆に氷片1個分よりも大
きく設定されているために、簀の子10の上に載ってい
る底部側の氷片6にはアジテータ9による攪拌作用が十
分に加わらず、室内を流下する溶融ドレンの影響もあっ
て氷片同士が溶着し易くなる。さらに加えて、貯氷室3
の上部側に溜まっている氷片6はアジテータ9の攪拌作
用が十分に加わらずに停滞したままとなり、この放置状
態が長くなると氷片同士が溶着し合って大きな氷塊を呈
するようになる。この結果、氷片の搬出量に大きなバラ
ツキが生じ、最悪な場合には大きな氷塊が氷片出口を塞
ぐなどして販売時に所定量の氷片が搬出されなくなとい
った事態も発生する。 【0008】この発明は上記の点に鑑みなされたもので
あり、その目的は前記課題を解決し、製氷水の水質に左
右されることなく、貯氷室に貯えた氷片を大きなバラツ
キなしに定量搬出できるように改良したオーガー式製氷
機を提供することにある。 【0009】 【課題を解決するための手段】上記目的を達成するため
に、この発明によれば、製氷部から送り込んだ氷片を貯
える貯氷室が断面円形状の断熱容器であり、その周面に
搬出扉付き氷片出口を開口するとともに、室内には回転
軸から放射状に複数本のアームが突き出た氷片攪拌/搬
出用のアジテータ、および底面側に配した簀の子を備え
たオーガー式製氷機において、前記貯氷室の内周壁面と
アジテータのアーム先端との間に氷片1個分より大きい
隙間と、前記アジテータのアームと簀の子との間に氷片
1個分よりも小さな隙間と、を設定するとともに、前記
アジテータのアームが通過する前記搬出扉付き氷片出口
の手前位置近傍の前記貯氷室の内壁面上に貯氷室の深さ
に略相応した縦向きのリブ状突起を設けた。 【0010】 【0011】上記構成を採用することにより、貯氷室内
に貯えた氷片に対してアジテータ、およびリブ状突起が
氷片の攪拌/搬出に効果的に機能し、かつアジテータの
回転で氷片を細かく砕くこともなく、これにより氷片搬
出時には所定量の氷片を大きなバラツキなしに搬出する
ことが可能となる。なお、この氷片定量搬出の効果は発
明者等が行って実機テストの結果からも評価、確認され
ている。 【0012】 【発明の実施の形態】以下、この発明の実施の形態を図
1の実施例に基づいて説明する。すなわち、この実施例
においては、製氷部2から貯氷室3に送りこまれた氷片
6の1個の大きさをAとして、貯氷室3の内周壁面とア
ジテータ9のアーム先端との間の間隙BをB>A,アジ
テータ9のアームと室内の底面側に配した簀の子10と
の間の間隙CをC<Aとなるように設定している。さら
に、貯氷室3の内壁面上にはその上端から簀の子10を
配置した下端部に至る貯氷室の深さHに略相応した長さ
を有する縦向きのリブ状突起14が設けある。なお、こ
のリブ状突起14は、縦長な帯状の金属板の中央に山型
の突起を板金加工したもの,あるいは樹脂成形品で作
り、貯氷室3の氷片出口から外れた位置で内壁面に固着
する。なお、リブ状突起14は貯氷室の内壁と一体に成
形することも可能である。 【0013】 【発明の効果】以上述べたこの発明の構成によれば、貯
氷室内に貯えた氷片に対してアジテータ,およびリブ状
突起が氷片の攪拌/搬出に効果的に機能し、かつアジテ
ータの回転で氷片を細かく砕くこともなく、これにより
氷片搬出時には大きなバラツキなしに氷片を定量ずつ搬
出することができ、これによりオーガー式製氷機の機
能,信頼性の向上化が図れる。
