れる本の厚表紙部材の製造過程に於いて、芯材を表装材
で被覆する際に、表装材の四方の角部を折り返し接着す
る装置に関するものである。 【0002】 【従来の技術】一般に、本の表紙は厚表紙と薄表紙に大
別されるが、このうち、いわゆるハードカバーと呼ばれ
る厚表紙部材の製造は以下のように行われる。即ち、予
め接着剤を塗布した紙、布などからなる表装材の裏面に
板紙等でできた表表紙用芯材、裏表紙用芯材、背表紙用
芯材をそれぞれ所定位置に載置接着する。次にこれらの
芯材を包むように表装材の周縁を折り返し、表装材と芯
材の間に気泡が入らないように注意しながら接着する。
この様にして、表紙部材が完成する。 【0003】かかる工程のうち、芯材を包むように表装
材の周縁を折り返す方法には、従来から二通りの方法が
ある。第一の方法は、表装材の四方の角を予め斜めに切

する方法である(図7(A))。第二の方法は、表装材
は長方形状のままで、先ず四方の角部を三角形状に折返

本発明は、四方角部を切欠していない長方形状の表装材
を用いて厚表紙部材を製造するに当たり、予めその四方
角部を確実に折り返し接着する装置を提案するものであ

め、本発明は、厚表紙角部の折返し接着装置として、基
台(1)の両側に設けた案内棒(4)に支持アーム
(3)を介してベルトコンベヤ(2)を摺動自在に支持

一方は、案内杆(10)に摺動自在に取り付け、例えば
止めネジ(11)等で固定または移動を可能とし、折返
しユニットの相互の間隔を調整可能とすることで、種々
