ケーブルに内蔵されている光ファイバ心線には、通信線
識別のための識別記号(ID符号)が付されている。他
方、電話交換機等の配線盤に対する個々の光ファイバ心
線のコネクタの接続位置は種々の理由により頻繁に変更
されるが、この変更作業においては、光ファイバ心線の
端末部においてそのID符号を確認する必要がある。し
かも、識別すべき光ファイバ心線数が極めて多数(上記
のように2000乃至は4000)であるため、ID符
号を二次元の識別記号にし、この識別記号を印刷したタ
グを各光ファイバ心線に取り付けることが行われてい
る。ところで、二次元の識別記号は5mm平方程度の範
囲に縦横に記号を配列してその組み合わせによって表示
されるものであり、上記識別タグに印刷されたこの識別
記号は二次元コードリーダーによって読み取られるもの
である。一方、各光ファイバ心線に付設された識別タグ
は上下左右に密集しているので、個々の識別タグの表示
を二次元コードリーダーによって、迅速、容易かつ確実
に読み取ることは容易なことではない。以上の事情か
ら、電話交換機にコネクタで接続されている通信線につ
いて、その識別記号を印刷したタグを端末のコネクタの
近傍に吊り下げてあって、この識別タグに表記された識
別記号を上記二次元コードリーダーによって読み取る作
業を行うと、1本の通信線のタグの識別記号を確認する
のに例えば5秒を要するとして、4000本の通信線を
対象にすれば、最大5時間を要する計算になる。通信回
線数の増加が著しく、配線変更作業が頻繁に行われる今
日においては、配線替え作業の能率化、効率化のため
に、二次元コードリーダーによる個々のタグの識別記号
の読み取りを容易、迅速かつ正確に行えるようにするこ
とが強く求められている。この要求に応えるものとして
図2に示す構造の識別タグ及び取付機構が提案されてい
る。このものはプラスチック製の四角な平板状(或は円
板状)の識別タグ1の側面に貫通孔2が設けてあって、
この貫通孔2に通信線3を通して、識別タグ1を通信線
に装着し、これを通信線のコネクタ4の近傍に配置して
いるものである。電話交換機に接続された状態において
はコネクタ4の近傍は通信線間に一定の間隔があるの
で、コネクタ4の近傍に配置された識別タグ1に二次元
コードリーダーの先端を容易に接近させることができ、
