断面に曲成した補強部材3を跨設させ、それぞれの接合

補強構造においてはパイプ部材1,2と補強部材3との
接合部の溶着痕4が車体の外側にも向かって露出し、外

た改善案を採用したものがあるが、車体外側のパイプ部
材6,7と補強部材5との接合部に隙間9が生じ、さら
にこの隙間9には塗装が入りにくく、この隙間9に錆が

もので、外観の向上を図った自動二輪車用パイプフレー
ムの補強構造を提供することを目的とする。 【0008】 【課題を解決するための手段】本発明に係る自動二輪車
用パイプフレームの補強構造は、上述した課題を解決す
るために、請求項1に記載したように、車体フレームの
前部を構成するタンクレールおよびダウンチューブのヘ
ッドパイプ寄りにパイプ部材からなるブリッジパイプを
架設し、このブリッジパイプと上記ダウンチューブとの
接続部の接続角度を90°以上に設定すると共に、上記
接続部に鋼製板材からなる補強部材を配設し、それぞれ
の上記接続部を溶接した自動二輪車用パイプフレームの
補強構造において、上記補強部材のパイプ部材への接合
端を車体の内側に配置し、このパイプ部材の外周面に沿
って曲成した後、上記パイプ部材の軸線と平行になるよ
うに折曲すると共に、上記補強部材の折曲部をその補強
部材の中心線が上記パイプ部材の軸線に対し車体の外側
にオフセットされるように設定したものである。 【0009】 【発明の実施の形態】以下、本発明の実施形態を図面に
基づいて説明する。 【0010】図1は、この発明を適用した自動二輪車の
一例を示す左側面図である。 【0011】図1において、この自動二輪車11は車体
フレーム12を有し、この車体フレーム12の中央下部

ある一対のタンクレール24、一対のダウンチューブ2

製パイプ部材を組み合わせたパイプフレームから構成さ
れる車体フレームを備えた自動二輪車において、上記パ
イプ部材同士の接続部に補強部材を配置し、それぞれの
接合部を溶着する一方、上記補強部材はそのパイプ部材
への接合端を車体の内側に配置し、このパイプ部材の外
周面に沿って曲成した後、上記パイプ部材の軸線と平行
になるように折曲すると共に、上記補強部材の折曲部を
その補強部材の中心線が上記パイプ部材の軸線に対し車
体の外側にオフセットされるように設定したため、溶着
痕が車体の外側から見えなくなって外観が向上し、ま
