2. Description of the Related Art A portable radio device of this type operates on a battery, but before the battery is exhausted and communication is interrupted, the battery voltage is monitored and an alarm is issued when the voltage falls below a predetermined value. It has a function of outputting and notifying the user and urging the user to replace the battery. As the alarm notifying means, there are various means such as sound from a speaker, display on an LCD or the like, or vibration using a vibrator or the like.

The operation will be described with reference to FIG. The battery remaining amount detection circuit 51 detects the remaining amount of the battery, the comparison value 53 is compared with the reference value 52, and when the value is lower than the reference value and in the standby state, the first timer 5 is activated, and the first alarm The circuit 56 generates a first alarm signal until a time-out, and drives a sounding device 57 such as a speaker. Further, in the call state, the second timer 58 is activated, the second alarm circuit 59 generates the second alarm signal until the time-out, and drives the vibration device 60 such as a vibrator. After the first or second alarm is stopped, the third timer 61 is activated, the third alarm circuit 62 generates a third alarm signal after a time-out, drives the sounding device, and turns off the operating power by the power-off circuit 63. As described above, in the conventional example, the alarm sound or the alarm vibration is used as the alarm notifying means. However, in the case of the alarm sound, the sound source generating circuit and the speaker are required. In case of alarm vibration, a vibrator etc. is required. Providing these has a problem of burdening the cost and downsizing of the main body. In particular, there is a problem that the alarm sound from the speaker is difficult to hear when used in a noisy environment.

Further, the voltage detection unit uses the control signal output to the voice folding circuit as a voltage signal of a predetermined voltage value when the voltage of the battery drops to a reference value, thereby reducing the voltage of the battery. This voltage value increases as it increases, and when the voltage drop of the battery reaches a limit value, this voltage value is output as a predetermined maximum fixed value, and the voice folding circuit inputs the control signal of the voltage signal. At this time, the voice signal may be transmitted to the handset side, and at the same time, the transmission level may be controlled to increase in accordance with the increase in the voltage value of the control signal.

Next, the operation of the portable radio apparatus of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. The operation of the radio itself is based on the battery 6
If the voltage is within the normal range, the control signals 101, 102
Is not output, the normal operating state is entered. When the battery 6 is exhausted and the battery voltage reaches the reference value for low voltage detection, the voltage detection circuit 5 outputs the control signals 101 and 102. At this time, the control signal 101 is a pulsed digital signal as shown in the figure, and the control signal 102 is a low voltage analog signal.

The control signal 101 is input to the squelch circuit 4, a squelch switch (not shown) is opened, and the noise output from the receiver 2 is sent to the handset 8 side. At this time, since the control signal 101 has a pulse shape, noise sent to the handset 8 side is interrupted. The squelch circuit 4 receives the control signal 101 in addition to the normal function of blocking the output end so that the noise output from the receiver 2 does not reach the receiver 8 side when the receiver 2 is in the non-input state. It has a squelch switch that opens this block when it is opened.

The control signal 102 is input to the voice folding circuit 3, and the amount of attenuation of the variable attenuator 32 is reduced to control the voice signal from the transmitter 7 to be returned to the receiver 8. At this time, since the voltage of the control signal 102 is low, the amount of attenuation is still large and the level of the return audio signal is low. The call back voice signal is heard as a side tone by the caller, but is set to a level that does not disturb the call. In the state where the control signal 102 is not input, that is, in the normal state, the amount of attenuation of the variable attenuator 32 is sufficiently large, and almost all the return voice signal is in the blocking state.

As described above, when the voltage of the battery 6 reaches the reference value for low voltage detection, squelch noise is heard intermittently in the handset 8 when there is no reception input, that is, when there is no call, and when transmitting. Since the transmitted voice starts to be heard as a return voice signal returned to the handset 8, that is, as a side tone, it can be known from any notification that the battery 6 has entered the region requiring replacement. When the battery 6 is further consumed, the pulse period of the control signal 101 becomes shorter and the squelch noise is interrupted faster.
Further, the voltage of the control signal 102 becomes high, and the variable attenuator 32 is
The amount of attenuation is reduced and the level of the return audio signal is increased. As a result, the degree of battery consumption can be known. When the battery voltage reaches the usage limit value, the control signal 101 becomes a continuous signal and squelch noise is continuously heard. Further, the control signal 102 has a maximum fixed voltage, and the level of the return audio signal is maximum. From this, it can be seen that the battery has reached the limit of use.

When the squelch noise of the battery notification and the return voice signal interfere with a call, a stop signal is input to the switch 54 of the voltage detection circuit 5 by operating a switch on the operation unit (not shown). Control signal 10
The squelch noise and the return audio signal can be stopped by stopping the output of 1, 102.

As described above, the portable radio device of the present invention is a means for notifying battery exhaustion that squelch noise during standby or a return voice signal for returning a transmission voice signal to the handset side during transmission. Since the circuit is used, there is no need to use a notification signal source, and the circuit becomes simple. Therefore, it has an effect of contributing to downsizing and cost reduction of the device. In particular, since the notification sound is heard through the handset, there is an effect that it will not be overlooked even if it is used in a noisy environment.

Further, since it is not a notification means by display, there is no defect that the display is overlooked depending on the usage state, and there is an effect that the notification can be made surely. Furthermore, there is an effect that it is possible to know the degree of battery consumption by accelerating the intermittent period of squelch noise and increasing the level of the return audio signal, and confirming the battery replacement time.
