Abstract

[Problem] To provide a chair with a shade of simple structure that can efficiently prevent sunlight from entering, regardless of the direction from which the sunlight comes. [Solution] A chair with a shade 100 comprises a chair body 10 having a seat, a top shade 20 attached to the top of the chair body so as to block sunlight from entering from above, and side shades detachably attached to the top shade so as to hang down from the side edges of the top shade so as to block sunlight from entering from the sides. The top shade has first, second, third and fourth side edges forming a substantially rectangular planar shape, the first side edge and the third side edge being in a parallel positional relationship, and the second side edge and the fourth side edge being in a parallel positional relationship. At least two first fastening devices 21 are attached to the first side edge of the top shade with a gap therebetween, and two first fastened devices that are detachable from the first fastening devices are attached to the third side edge. Description

This invention relates to chairs for outdoor use, and in particular to chairs with shades that block sunlight.

Lightweight, foldable chairs are known as outdoor equipment. For example, the chair disclosed in Design Registration No. 1423253 comprises a chair frame made of multiple pipes rotatably connected to enable it to be folded, a seat made of a flexible material that is attached to the chair frame to form the seat and backrest, and a top shade that is attached to the chair frame so as to cover the space above the chair frame.

A shade on the top of a chair used outdoors is effective in preventing sunlight from entering the seat from above, but cannot block sunlight entering the seat from the sides, front or rear. It is possible to provide shades on both side surfaces, the front and the rear in addition to the top surface of the seat, but this would result in a large shade and is not suitable for outdoor chairs, where lightweight construction is desired. It is also possible to provide a shade on only one of the both side surfaces, the front and the rear in addition to the top surface, but as the direction from which sunlight enters varies depending on where the chair is used, it is not possible to prevent sunlight from entering from surfaces that are not provided with a shade.

The purpose of this invention is to provide a chair with a shade of simple structure that can effectively block sunlight from entering, regardless of the direction from which the sunlight enters.

The chair with shade according to the present invention comprises a chair body having a seating area, a top shade attached to the top of the chair body so as to block sunlight from entering from above the seating area, and a side shade detachably attached to the top shade so as to hang down from the side edge of the top shade so as to block sunlight from entering from the side of the seating area.

The top shade has first, second, third and fourth side edges that form a substantially rectangular planar shape, the first and third side edges being in a parallel relationship, and the second and fourth side edges being in a parallel relationship.

At least two first fastening devices are attached at intervals to the first side edge of the top shade, and at least two first fastening devices are attached at intervals to the third side edge of the top shade, which removably engage with the first fastening devices.

At least two second fastening devices that releasably engage with the first fastening device and at least two second fastening devices that releasably engage with the first fastening device are attached at intervals to the upper edge of the side shade.

The "side" of the seat should be understood to include the front, both sides, and rear as seen by a person sitting on the seat.

Preferably, the chair body of the chair with a shade has a foldable structure, and the top shade is configured to be able to wrap the folded chair body by overlapping the first side edge and the third side edge. With the folded chair body wrapped in the top shade, the first locking device and the first locked device are engaged to fix the folded state of the chair body.

Preferably, the first fastening device and the first fastened device are attached to the surface of the top shade via a belt, and the second fastening device and the second fastened device are attached to the surface of the side shade via a belt. In this case, it is even more preferable that the position of the base of the belt of the second fastening device and the position of the base of the belt of the second fastening device are aligned.

The side shade is selectively and removably attached to any one of the first, second, third and fourth side edges of the top shade.

Preferably, the chair body has a bag for storing the side shade when removed and folded up.

The side shade of the present invention has a first fastening device or a first fastening device at the four corners of a substantially rectangular planar shape, and is removably connected to each of the four side edges of the top shade provided on the top of the chair body. At each of the corners on one side and the other side of the upper edge, there is a second fastening device that removably engages with the first fastening device, and a second fastening device that removably engages with the first fastening device.

By engaging the first fastening device of the top shade with the second fastening device of the side shade, and further engaging the first fastening device of the top shade with the second fastening device of the side shade, the side shade can be selectively and detachably attached to any of the first, second, third and fourth side edges of the top shade, thereby effectively blocking sunlight from any direction.

Figure 1 shows a chair with a shade according to the present invention. The chair with a shade 100 is intended to be used outdoors, for example as an outdoor item, and has a lightweight and foldable structure.

The main components of the chair with shade 100 are a chair body 10 with a seating area, a top shade 20 attached to the top of the chair body 10 to block sunlight from above the seating area, and a side shade 30 (not shown in FIG. 1).

The chair body 10 comprises a chair frame 11 that is configured to be foldable by connecting multiple pipes in a rotatable manner, and a seat 12 made of a flexible material that is attached to the chair frame 11 to form the seat and backrest. The flexible sheet that forms the seat 12 is, for example, a cloth sheet or a synthetic resin sheet, and does not interfere with the folding operation of the chair frame 11.

A storage bag 13 is attached to the underside of the seat of the seat 12, and the side shade 30 that has been removed and folded is stored in this storage bag 13. When it is necessary to use the side shade 30, the side shade 30 is removed from the storage bag 13. This side shade 30 will be described in detail later.

The top shade 20 has an overall substantially rectangular planar shape, and can be changed between an upright position (as shown in FIG. 1) and a rearward lowered position (as shown in FIG. 2) via the support pipe 14. The top shade 20 has a substantially rectangular planar shape, and has a first side edge that is the right side edge, a second side edge that is the rear side edge, a third side edge that is the left side edge, and a fourth side edge that is the front side edge, as seen from the line of sight of the seated person. The first side edge and the third side edge are in a substantially parallel positional relationship, and the second side edge and the fourth side edge are in a substantially parallel positional relationship. Note that the correspondence between the specific position of the side edge of the top shade (e.g., the right side edge) and the order of the side edges (e.g., the first side edge) is for convenience.

Figure 2 shows the state in which the chair body 10 is folded and the top shade 20 is positioned behind the chair body 10. Figure 3 shows the state in which the chair body 10 in the folded state is wrapped and fixed by the top shade 20 from the state shown in Figure 2. To maintain this fixed state, at least two first fastening devices 21 are attached at intervals to the first side edge of the top shade 20, and at least two first engaging devices 22 are attached at intervals to the third side edge. The first fastening devices 21 are, for example, male buckles, and detachably engage with the first engaging devices 22, for example, female buckles.

In the state shown in FIG. 3, the first side edge and the third side edge of the top shade 20 are overlapped to encase the chair body 10 in the folded state, and the first locking device 21 and the first locking device 22 are engaged to fix and hold the chair body 10 in the folded state. When the shaded chair 100 is not in use, it is folded compactly as shown in FIG. 3.

To facilitate the attachment and detachment of the first fastening device 21 and the first fastened device 22, the first fastening device 21 and the first fastened device 22 are preferably each connected to the surface of the top shade 20 via a belt.

The first locking device 21 and the first lockable device 22 are necessary to maintain the shape of the top shade 20 when it is wrapped around the folded chair body 10. When using the chair 100, the engagement between the first locking device 21 and the first lockable device 22 is released, and the chair 100 and the top shade 20 are placed in the open state shown in Figure 1.

The feature of this invention is that the side shade 30 can be selectively and detachably attached to either the first side edge, the second side edge, the third side edge, or the fourth side edge of the top shade 20 by utilizing the first fastening device 21 and the first fastening device 22 of the top shade 20.

Figure 5 shows the entire side shade 30. Two second latches 31 and two second fasteners 32 are attached to the upper edge of the side shade 30 at a distance from each other. As shown in Figure 6, the second latch 31 is, for example, a female buckle, and can be detachably engaged with the first fastener 21 of the top shade 20. The second fastener 32 is, for example, a male buckle, and can be detachably engaged with the first fastener 22 of the top shade 20. The second latch 31 and the second fastener 32 located on one side are paired and are connected to the surface of the side shade 30 via a belt from the same position on one side of the side shade 30. Similarly, the second latch 31 and the second fastener 32 located on the other side are paired and are connected to the surface of the side shade 30 via a belt from the same position on the other side of the side shade 30.

Figure 4 shows the side shade 30 attached to the right side edge (first side edge) of the top shade 20 when viewed from the seated person's line of sight. In this state, the second engaging member 31 of the side shade 30 and the first engaging member 21 of the top shade 20 are removably engaged. The second engaging member 32 of the side shade 30 is not in use.

Figure 7 is an overall view of Figure 4, in which the side shade 30 is attached to the first side edge of the top shade 20 and hangs down.

Figure 8 shows the side shade 30 attached to the third side edge (left side edge) of the top shade 20. In this state, the second fastening device 32 of the side shade 20 and the first fastening device 22 of the top shade 10 are removably engaged. The second fastening device of the side shade 30 is not in use.

Figure 9 shows the side shade 30 attached to the second side edge (rear side edge) of the top shade 20. In this state, the second fastening device 32 located on one side of the side shade 20 and the first fastening device 22 located on the third side edge of the top shade 10 are detachably engaged, and the second fastening device 31 located on the other side of the side shade 20 and the first fastening device 21 located on the first side edge of the top shade 10 are detachably engaged.

Figure 10 shows the side shade 30 attached to the fourth side edge (front side edge) of the top shade 20. In this state, the second fastening device 31 located on one side of the side shade 20 and the first fastening device 21 located on the first side edge of the top shade 10 are detachably engaged, and the second fastening device 32 located on the other side of the side shade 20 and the first fastening device 22 located on the third side edge of the top shade 10 are detachably engaged.

As explained above, the chair with shade according to the present invention can effectively block sunlight from any direction by appropriately changing the mounting position of one side shade.

In the illustrated embodiment, the fastening device is a male buckle and the fastened device is a female buckle, but the present invention is not limited to such a structure. The fastening device and the fastened device may be detachably engaged with each other. For example, the fastening device may be hook-shaped and the fastened device may be ring-shaped.

In the illustrated embodiment, two fastening devices are attached to the first side edge of the top shade, and two fastening devices are attached to the third side edge. As a modified example, one fastening device may be attached to one side of the first side edge of the top shade and one fastening device to the other side, and one fastening device may be attached to one side of the third side edge and one fastening device to the other side.

In the above-described embodiment, two first fastening devices are attached to the first side edge of the top shade, and two first latched devices are attached to the third side edge of the top shade, but from the perspective of removably attaching the side shade, it is sufficient that the top shade has first fastening devices or first latched devices at the four corners of the rectangular planar shape. In this case, the side shade may have a second fastening device that removably engages with the first fastening device and a second fastening device that removably engages with the first fastening device at each of one side corner and the other side corner of the upper edge.

The above describes an embodiment of the present invention with reference to the drawings, but the present invention is not limited to the structure of the illustrated embodiment, and various modifications and changes are possible within the same scope as the present invention or within an equivalent scope.

This invention can be advantageously used as a chair with a shade that can effectively block sunlight from any direction.

A chair body having a seat portion;
A top shade attached to the top of the chair body so as to block sunlight from entering from above the seating area;
and a side shade that is detachably attached to the top shade so as to hang down from a side edge of the top shade to block sunlight from entering from the side of the seating area.
