Description
The present invention relates to thin glasses that can be stored in a chest pocket or clipped into a book or magazine when carried around while being removed from the face.
Glasses come in many different shapes and sizes, with a wide variety of designs and decorations. And in terms of functionality, they are lightweight and made of materials such as titanium so that you don't feel tired even when wearing them for long periods of time.
Also widely used are rimless glasses that have no rim on the front, but instead have both lenses screwed directly to each other with connecting members and a frame screwed to the outside of the lenses.
Fig. 7 shows a typical pair of glasses, which has foldable temples (B), (B) attached to both sides of a front part (A). The front part (A) connects two rims (C), (C) with a connecting member (D), and end pieces (E), (E) are brazed to the outsides of the two rims (C), (C). The temples (B), (B) are foldably connected to the end pieces (E), (E) via hinges (F), (F).
Lenses (T) and (T) are fitted into the rims (Ha) and (Ha).
FIG. 8 shows a case where the glasses are removed and the temples (B) and (B) are folded, and both temples (B) and (B) overlap each other. As is clear from the figure, the temples (B) and (B) are folded on the back side of the front part (A), and the thickness dimension H thereof becomes relatively large.
Glasses for nearsightedness are worn at all times, but reading glasses are generally carried around in a glasses case to be worn when working or reading newspapers and magazines.
Therefore, it is necessary for the reading glasses to be as compact as possible.
Although there is a limit to reducing the vertical and horizontal dimensions of the front part because it is hung on the face, by reducing the thickness dimension H in the folded state, the glasses case to be accommodated becomes thinner.
However, in conventional glasses, roughly L-shaped endpieces (E) and (E) are provided on both sides of the front part, and temples (B) and (B) attached to the endpieces (E) and (E) are provided. Since it is folded so as to overlap the back side of the front part, there is a limit to the reduction in thickness.
Conventionally, various forms of thin glasses have been filed.
In the "thin glasses" disclosed in Japanese Utility Model Application Publication No. 1-64616, pivot shafts are provided vertically at the left and right ends of the upper edge of the front part of the glasses frame, and the temples are pivoted by the pivot shafts. Therefore, these glasses can be folded compactly, can be stored without taking up space, are convenient to carry, and are particularly effective as reading glasses.
In the "thin glasses" disclosed in JP-A-2009-69356, a brooch is provided at a position where an inclined line extending from the center of an approximately oval rim and extending downward from the horizontal baseline intersects the rim, and a joint is attached to the brooch. At the same time, the axis of the joint is parallel to the tangent to the rim at the above position, and the temple attached to the joint stands up along the rim flush with the front part in the folded state, and then straightens. The tip of the rim is extended and has a curved tip, and the temple is inclined outward when opened, and the connecting member connecting both rims is provided in the shape of a chevron on the underside of the rim.
There are many types of thin reading glasses that are designed to be compact and portable. In other words, when the temples are folded, the thickness becomes thin, so that they can be carried in a breast pocket or between the pages of a book.
However, because thin glasses are different in shape from regular glasses, putting them on and taking them off can be a hassle.
The problem to be solved by this invention is to provide thin glasses that allow the temples to be folded smoothly so that the operation of putting on and taking off the glasses is the same as that of regular glasses.
The thin glasses of the present invention are configured so that both temples can be folded toward the back side of the front part, and the temples can be folded in substantially the same plane as the front part. Therefore, fixed end pieces are provided on both sides of the front part, and a rotating end piece is rotatably attached to the fixed end pieces. The rotary endpiece can rotate about an axis extending outward from the fixed endpiece, and the temple turns vertically at the same time as the rotary endpiece rotates.
An arm extends from the rotating armoury, and the above-mentioned crane is connected to the tip of the arm via a joint so that it can be folded.
When wearing thin glasses, the arms and the temples extending from the arms fall down to a substantially horizontal state, and the tips of the temples are latched to the ears. Then, in this state, the vine is folded to the back side of the front part via the joint. In other words, the temples fold up in the same way as regular glasses.
On the other hand, if the rotating endpiece rotates and the arm can be directed towards the upper or lower side of the front part, and the crane is folded in this state, the crane will be placed along the upper or lower side of the front part. be done.
A positioning means is provided to position the rotating end piece when the arm and temple are horizontal and extend rearward from the front part, or when the arm and temple are extended upward or downward from the front part and are in the same plane. In other words, a stopper is provided to stop the rotating end piece at a predetermined position so that it does not rotate freely.
However, the present invention does not limit the specific structure by which the rotating end piece can rotate, the specific joint structure by which the temples can be folded, or the specific positioning means of the rotating end piece.
In the thin glasses according to the present invention, when the temples are folded, they fit on the same plane as the front part, so that the thickness of the folded glasses is thin. If the rotating endpiece is rotated and arranged so that the arm extends toward the rear of the front section, the temple can be folded toward the back side of the front section.
That is, since the thin glasses of the present invention can be folded by overlapping the back of the front part like regular glasses, they are easy to put on, and the operation of putting them on and taking them off is no different from that of regular glasses.
And if the temples are folded along the upper side of the front part, the glasses become thinner and the thickness of the glasses case also becomes thinner, so that not only can they be carried in a breast pocket, but they also function as a bookcase that can be tucked inside a book.
That is, when the user finishes reading, he or she can remove the thin glasses and tuck them in, and when the user starts reading again, he or she can put the thin glasses on as a sticker on his or her face.
When the temples are folded along the upper or lower side of the front part, they fit flush with the front part, so even if they are left on the floor, they will not be damaged if stepped on.
