Description

In recent years, in lure fishing, the use of sinkers (fishing weights) has become diverse.
The sinker is used properly depending on the mechanism, but in the down shot sinker (weight used by tying a thread etc. on the upper part), a Harris stopper is attached to the upper part of the sinker (Fig. 2), the thread is directly tied or threaded through. Some are equipped with a can to be used (Fig. 1).
It is difficult to carry many of these two types by weight, so I would like to combine the roles of the two types of sinkers and reduce the amount of luggage.

At the top of the sinker, make a spiral shape with no gaps with wires (see Fig. 3 and Fig. 4) so that one can be fixed to the sinker and the other end is a spiral circle so that the thread can be easily hooked. Let it stick out from the circumference.
Since the shape of the wire is a spiral circle, it can be used as a sinker with a can.
Furthermore, it can be used as a Harris stopper by passing the thread through the can more than once, hooking the thread on the protruding wire so that it can be easily hooked, and pulling it together with the thread (see Fig. 5).

By using this sinker, you can combine the two types of sinkers you carried with you into one and halve your luggage, making it easier to organize.
With conventional Harris stoppers, the mechanism is to pinch and stop in the crimped gap of metal, so thin threads may break, but with this spring mechanism, tighten with the same thread as the thread to pinch and stop. As a result, it is stopped (see Fig. 5), so even thin threads are less likely to break gently.
