シャープペンシルやボールペンなどは、芯の出る円錐形状の先端部品とペン軸からなる外観上の部品構成において、芯の出る先端部品とペン軸の間にツバを挾み込んで付けてもよい。
短くなった鉛筆の補助筆記具である鉛筆ホルダーにツバを付けてもよい。
