したがって、このように構成される円柱形状の突出部29は、木材20を単独で取り扱っている際に切込溝21に操作部片14が没入することを抑制することが可能である。
木材20のみを操作している場合では、接合基板3がないため木材20が傾くことで簡単に操作部片14は切込溝21内に入り込んでしまい、これを取り出すには、再度木材20を反対に傾けるなどする必要があった。しかしながら、木材20の中には長いものも多く簡単に傾けることができず、薄い金属片などを切込溝21内に挿し込み操作部片14を押し出すようにしなければならない不都合があった。
そこで、突出部29を第一叩打部14aまたは第二叩打部14bに設けて、操作部片14が切込溝21へ没入する直前に先端29aが木材20の上面に係止、すなわち引っかかるように突出部29を設けて、ストッパーとして機能させたのである。
