使用法は、USBオス端子に本アタッチメントを装着した後、パソコン等のUSBメス端子に差し込む。このようにUSBメス端子に電磁場をシールドする本アタッチメントを装着することで、電磁場の発生源の直近で電磁場をシールドでき効果的にノイズを除くことができる。なお、USB端子には形状の異なるTypeA、TypeB、Mini−A、Mini−B、Micro−A、Micro−Bがあり、いずれの端子の場合でも形状に応じた開口部、そして厚さにする必要があり、かついずれもオス端子に装着する。
また、AV端子の場合でもUSB端子と同様それぞれのAV端子の形状に応じた開口部、そして厚さにする必要がある。AV端子の代表的な端子であるRCA端子の場合、RCAオス端子とRCAメス端子との形状を見ると、本アタッチメントはRCAメス端子に装着する必要がある。ピン端子、ヘッドホーン端子そして音声と映像に用いられているHDMI端子の場合、本アタッチメントはオス端子に装着する。なおAV端子の形状によってはアタッチメントの厚さをごく薄くする必要がある。
また、銅合金メッシュ(1)の代わりに多くの小さな穴を開けた銅合金板にしても、同様の電磁場シールド効果が得られる。
