本考案の実施例を図１に示す。本考案の茶筅は、竹の一方を細かく切断した穂１と、穂１の下部を糸２で縛り、節３を介した他方に構成した持ち手４からなるものである。持ち手４の部分は、うるしに煤顔料を混入させて塗布したものである。塗布の手順として、紙ヤスリを持ち手に当て研磨し、精製された煤材にうるしを混入て塗布し、湿度の高い箱に入れ乾燥させる。この行程を３〜7回繰り返す。色のつきの悪い場合は煤材を１％から2％に混入量を増加させ塗布し、湿度の高い箱に入れ乾燥させる。この行程を1〜3回繰り返す。
また、持ち手以外の穂先の部分にも煤材を塗布してもよい。
