剣はスポーツ競技や遊びの中に取り入れられ、多種多様なものが存在する。
日本古来の剣術、剣道、フェンシングそして幼い頃遊んだチャンバラ等があり、それぞれ目的によって剣の材質や形状・構成が異なる。この中で発光機能を有するのは競技としてのフェンシングである。このフェンシングでは競技者は専用の衣服を着用するとともに、床面上に設置される発光機能を有する構成体に結線接続され、剣先が相手の身体を突くことにてこの構成体が発光して技のポイントを認識できるよう構成されている。
フェンシングの剣は細身であるとともにその動きが速く、肉眼視では有効技の判定が困難なためにこのように構成されている。一方、遊びとしてのチャンバラは木や竹などの棒体を剣の代わりとして打ち合うものであるが、有効打の判定は当人にしかわからず、その判断が難しい場合がある。
本案は、以上のような従来からの剣および剣の代用物に関わる課題を解決するために考案されたもので、剣の内部に発光機能を付加することにて、有効技の判定を容易にするとともに、視覚的変化にてより趣のある遊びや競技を行うことのできる、新規かつ有用なる用具を提供することを目的としたものである。

10は筒状透明合成樹脂による本体で、その一端は前記環状凹部に嵌入固着される。
11は柔軟性と弾力性を有する透明合成樹脂による略筒状のカバーで、本体に抜き差し可能に覆設される。このカバーの一端近傍外周には四等配に孔が穿設され、この孔に対応する本体位置には雌ねじが刻設され、止めビス12にて各部材は固定される。また、カバーの他端は略円錐形に形成され、この円錐状部分は本体より突出している。
20は基板である。この基板は適宜厚の合成樹脂製平板で、本体の上下内面に形成される溝部に挿入されて位置し、その両側面には発光ダイオードによる複数個の発光体21が取り付けられる。なお、この基板適所に雌ねじが刻設され、前記止めビス12が螺着する。
22は市販の全方位スイッチで、基板端近傍側面に取り付けられる。この全方位スイッチには触針23が突設され、この触針の中程まではコイルバネ24が位置している。
これにより、触針端に外圧が加わることにて触針は斜方に変形し、スイッチが投入される。基板の他端には円柱状金属棒による接続プラグ25が突設される。26は握り柄内に適宜支持部材にて位置固定されるコネクターで、前記の接続プラグが挿入可能である。
27は各種他製品に多用されているタイマー機能を有する制御回路、28は電池である。
制御回路および電池はクッション製を有する適宜支持部材にて握り柄内に位置保持される。なお、以上の各電気的部品は図3に示すように結線接続される。

なお、瞬間発光ではこのような認識が難しいので、本案では制御回路を設けてスイッチ投入から所定時間発光が持続するよう構成した。
既述の例では、鍔に対して握り柄とカバーおよび本体を着脱可能にし、また握り柄端にはキャップを設けたので、各部品の交換を容易に行うことができる。また、本体外面を柔軟性と弾力性を有するカバーにて覆う構成としており、使用者の肉体的損傷を防止することができ、カバー先端への押圧解除にてカバーは元の形状に復帰するので、連続的に使用することができる。また、本体の先端近傍に触針が突出しているので、切り結ぶとき、つまり剣の中程が打ち合っても発光することはない。なお、既述の例では本体および握り柄を円形断面にて形成したが、図5のように楕円形とすればより剣の風情を高めることができる。握り柄にはクッション体を覆設したので、手との摩擦を大として使用時に手から剣が離脱することを防止できる。また、カバーおよび本体そして基板は、止めビスにて固定されるので、同様に使用中の離脱を防止できる。
発光体は、並列接続にて適宜に結線されるが、この発光体の交換は、止めビスを外すことにてカバーを抜き取り、基板を本体内の溝に沿って抜き出すことにてなされる。
なお、電池と制御回路を、クッション性を有する支持部材にて握り柄内に位置保持することにて、使用中の衝撃伝達を緩和することができる。発光体として本例では、発光ダイオードを用いたが、ELなど他の物品を用いてもよく、同色のみならず種々の色の発光体を用い、あるいは混在させることにて、より趣のある発光とすることができる。なお、既述の例は実施の一例であり、近似の他の構成としてもよい。
以上のごとく、本案によって有効技の判定を容易にするとともに、従来にはなかった趣のある発光を有する剣を得ることができる。
