全ての成分の試験結果が、例えば、色が濃ければ健康状態が悪く、色が薄ければ健康状態が良いという共通した判断をすることができれば、専門知識のない使用者でも健康状態を把握し易いが、実際には、ある成分の試験結果は、尿試験紙の色が濃ければ健康状態が悪く、色が薄ければ健康状態が良いと判断できるが、別の成分の試験結果は、尿試験紙の色が濃すぎても薄すぎても健康状態が悪いと判断しなければならない等、試験する成分によって尿試験紙の色に応じた健康状態が異なるので、専門知識のない使用者が、尿試験紙の検出結果から色調表を使って、自らの健康状態を把握するのは簡単なことではない。
