しかしながら、チャンネル文字の作成方法が金属板をその断面がコの字型になるように加工した外板部を作成後、その底面にLED照明部材を設け、その上面部に光拡散部材を設ける方法で作成しているので、チャンネル文字を作成する場合にはボルトを使用して固定する作業が必要であり、大変手間が掛かると同時に費用も嵩むという問題を有していた。
