2. Description of the Related Art Heretofore, agents having the following effects have been known as agents having a freshness retaining effect on cut flowers. Prevention of decay by bacteria Suppression and removal of ethylene gas (which has growth promoting action) Growth inhibition (inhibition of growth hormone in plants) Shrink pores and suppress water evaporation Promote or smooth moisture up from cut end Nutrition supply The freshness preservation method that has been performed for a long time is also expected to have any of the above effects, for example, to frequently change water to prevent rot, to smoothly absorb water from the cut end Methods such as pruning stems in water, crushing cuts, and baking have been devised. However, all of these were troublesome, and the effect of maintaining freshness was not so high.

However, the life-prolonging effect of cut-flowers of commercially available products in which these known agents are combined is generally insufficient and unsatisfactory. For this reason, there has been a demand for a low-cost freshness preserving agent for cut flowers that has a high life-prolonging effect on cut flowers, is safe and sanitary, and is low in cost.

Means for Solving the Problems The present inventors have a simple,
As a result of intensive research to develop a freshness preserving agent for cut flowers that can obtain a better life extension effect, the freshness preserving agent containing diethyldithiocarbamic acid or its salt makes cut flowers more beautiful and more vivid. They have found that they can be maintained for a long period of time, and have completed the present invention. Therefore, the present invention is characterized in that freshness maintaining agent for cut flowers characterized by containing diethyldithiocarbamic acid or a salt thereof as an active ingredient, and immersing cut flowers in an aqueous solution containing diethyldithiocarbamic acid or a salt thereof. The present invention relates to a method for maintaining freshness of cut flowers.

Hereinafter, the configuration of the present invention will be described in detail. The cut flower referred to in the present invention refers to one that is pruned from an appropriate part of a plant having a flower and mainly intended for transportation and preservation, and the fresh flower is a stem, a branch, a leaf, and a flower that is appropriately pruned. Refers to what was used for appreciation. Hereinafter, in the present invention, both are collectively referred to as cut flowers. In this specification, diethyldithiocarbamic acid and diethyldithiocarbamate will be abbreviated as DDC hereinafter. Examples of the kind of flowers in which the freshness preserving agent for cut flowers of the present invention can be used include all cut flowers such as roses, carnations and chrysanthemums. The diethyldithiocarbamic acid and salts thereof used in the present invention may be those commercially available as reagents, and the salts are preferably water-soluble salts such as sodium salts, ammonium salts, and dimethylammonium salts.

When a cut flower is immersed in an aqueous solution containing DDC, the DDC concentration of the aqueous solution is 0.00 as the final dilution concentration.
01 to 1.0% by weight (hereinafter, referred to as%) is preferable,
0.001 to 0.1% is particularly preferred. Concentration 0.0001%
If it is less than 1.0%, there is no effect, and if it exceeds 1.0%, the effect is not improved, and further, there is a possibility of causing phytotoxicity. As an embodiment when DDC is used as a freshness preservative for cut flowers, for example,
The following are mentioned. The DDC powder or the concentrate is dissolved in or diluted with water. The DDC powder or the concentrate is dissolved or diluted with water together with other freshness preserving agents. A mixed powder of the DDC powder and another drug having a freshness preserving effect is dissolved in water. A concentrate containing DDC powder and another agent having a freshness preserving effect is diluted with water. What is necessary is just to soak the cut end of the cut flower in the aqueous solution prepared above.

Although DDC is effective alone as an aqueous solution, it can be expected to further improve its effect when used in combination with a conventionally known freshness preserving agent. Examples of known drugs to be used in combination include, for example, sodium hypochlorite, aluminum sulfate, STS, benzyladenine, kinetin,
Abscisic acid, polyoxyethylene lauryl ether,
Examples include, but are not limited to, SDS, saccharides, phosphoric acid, and the like. When used in combination with other chemicals, it is preferable to appropriately adjust the amount of DDC to be added, especially in consideration of the phytotoxicity on cut flowers.
