Conventionally, as a branch connector of this type, as shown in FIG. 18, with respect to a main line (c) and a branch line (d) housed in parallel in a resin insulation case (e), the center positions of the respective lines are set. By pushing in the electrical connector (a) provided with a U-shaped groove, the branch connection and the position of each wire are maintained, and then the insulating cover (b) formed integrally with the insulating case (e) is removed. Then, the hooks (h) of the insulating cover are fitted with the hooked projections (i) of the insulating case (e), and the exposed portions of the electrical connectors (a) of the insulating case (e) are covered with the insulating cover (b). ), Or as shown in FIG. 19, a concave groove and a retaining concave portion (h) are provided for accommodating half of the main line and the branch line in the axial cross section, and the main line (c) is provided in the concave groove. And the upper insulating case (f) to which the branch line (d) is applied, and the other half section Both the electrical connector (a) having the concave groove and the U-shaped groove for accommodating therein and the lower insulating case (g) provided with the to-be-engaged convex portion (i) are connected to the engaging concave portion of the upper insulating case and the lower portion. It is known that the hooked projections of the side insulating case are fitted to each other to be integrated to perform branch connection, accommodation and position holding of each wire, and insulation from the outside of the electric connector. Both use tools such as pliers or pliers that can pinch the branch connector in the connection operation.
【0003】[0003]
In the description of the prior art, the terminal of the branch line (d) does not deviate from the predetermined position (nu) of the connector housing until the branch connection is completed in order to make an appropriate branch connection. Further, in the latter one described in the prior art, the axis (l) of the main line (c) and the branch line (d) are respectively set so as to be centered in the U-shaped groove of the electric connector (a). It was necessary to hold the position of each line by external auxiliary means such as hand, tool or tool.
The above-described position holding is difficult because the branch connector described in the prior art is structurally unable to connect and hold only the branch line to the electrical connector before the branch connection and hold the position in the branch connector. It is necessary from a certain point. However, in the case of the latter, the above upper insulation case is divided into the main line side and the branch line side, so that only the branch line is connected to the electric connector before branch connection, and the position is held in the branch connector. Although it is possible, since there is no electric wire holding means in the concave groove of the upper insulating case, the reliability of the positioning means between the shaft of each wire and the U-shaped groove of the electric connector to be connected is lacking. The above-mentioned position holding is required.
[0005] As described in the technical field to which the present invention belongs, the branch connector of the present invention is also intended for use in electric wiring of an insulated wire of an automobile, so that branch connection work in a narrowly limited space can be performed. is assumed. Therefore, even when the branch connection work has to be performed mainly by groping, it is required that reliable and appropriate branch connection can be performed while minimizing the work man-hour and labor. Obviously, when the above-mentioned holding is required, it is more disadvantageous in satisfying the above requirement than when the holding is not required.
Further, among the branch connectors described in the prior art, in the former, the electric connector (a) is exposed immediately after the completion of the branch connection, so that an electric shock accident due to the electric connector serving as a charging unit is caused. In order to avoid the occurrence of electrical accidents that may destroy other electrical equipment or electrical networks, it is necessary to interrupt the energization of the main line during branch connection work, making the work safe and simple. It was an obstacle to getting it done.
【0007】[0007]
In order to solve the above-mentioned problem, the invention according to claim 1 is to store the main line and the branch line in an insulating case before the branch connection, and temporarily place the branch line in a predetermined position until the branch connection is completed. Means that can be held are provided to the branch connector. Furthermore, the invention according to claim 2 provides a state in which the electric connector can be connected to each line at the optimum position at all times, and an electric connector that can be a charged part after the branch connection is completed is insulated from the worker and the outside throughout the branch connection work. A part configuration and a part structure for simplifying the branch connection work while maintaining the state in which it can be performed are added to the configuration of the invention according to claim 1.

The branch connector according to the present invention is a resin connector having a main line, a branch line, and an accommodating portion for an electrical connector, and a push-down type wire holding projection formed on the outer surface of the branch line and on the outer surface. Insulation case, electrical connector, and resin insulation cover are three components.
The insulating case and the insulating cover form an outer part of the branch connector. Further, the insulating cover covers the entire electric connector before and after the branch connection operation, and is exposed from the contained insulating case after the branch connection. The electrical connector is insulated from the outside.
The insulating cover is provided with a slot or a groove having the same direction as the axis orthogonal to the axis at each end of two opposing sides having the same direction as the axis of the main line and the branch line to be accommodated. The case is provided with a guide for following the slots or grooves. The insulating cover and the insulating case are temporarily assembled by fitting a slot or a groove provided in the former with a guide provided in the latter.
The electrical connector is temporarily housed in a housing for the electrical connector provided on the insulating case before the insulating cover and the insulating case are temporarily assembled. In order to ensure that the electrical connectors are properly accommodated, the housing section has a side surface on the side of the insulating case on which the main wire is accommodated, a surface excluding the accommodation opening for the electrical connectors, and a housing for each line and the electrical connectors. A wall is formed in a part other than the part, and the wall guides the position of the electric connector to be accommodated. Further, it is necessary that the wall is formed so as to be in close contact with the electrical connector in the accommodation portion so that the electrical connector to be accommodated can be held. The above-mentioned wall is not formed on the side of the insulating case on the side where the main wire is accommodated, and a wall for guiding the side surface of the electrical connector is provided on the side of the insulating cover. Here, the temporary accommodation of the electrical connector means that the electrical connector is inserted to a depth that does not reach the accommodation portion of each line of the accommodation portion formed as described above.
The guides provided in the insulating case and the slots or grooves of the insulating cover are necessary for the purpose of providing the sliding action of the insulating cover with respect to the insulating case, in addition to the above-mentioned objects. The length of the slot or groove or the like is set so that the main line can be accommodated in the insulating case before the branch connection, that is, the insulating cover can be widened so as not to block the main line accommodation opening of the insulating case, and the branching is performed. After the connection work is completed, the insulating case and the insulating cover are brought into close contact with each other to ensure that both and the electrical connector can be integrated.
Further, in order to maintain the integrated state of the insulating case and the insulating cover after the branch connection, it is necessary to provide a means for hooking the insulating cover to the insulating case in the above state. As the hooking means, a means utilizing a slot or a groove of an insulating cover is considered to be the simplest. More specifically, a hooked projection having a terminal portion such as the slot or groove as a hooking portion is provided on the same line as the guide in the insulating case. In the case of the above-mentioned latching means, the latching projection is outside the slot or groove before the insulating cover and the insulating case are integrated, and fits into the slot or groove when the two are integrated. Becomes
Each line is accommodated in the insulating case from the side of the main line, that is, from the surface forming the same direction as the axis of the main line to be accommodated. Is inserted from the tubular hole provided in one of the surfaces through which the holes pass through to the end in the accommodation portion. On the wall of the main line housing opening of the insulating case, it is effective to provide a stopper to prevent the main line once housed from coming out of the housing part again and to keep the main line in the housing part. . It is preferable to use a protrusion or a hook having a shape such as a hook.
Further, in order to check whether or not the terminal of the branch line has been securely inserted to a predetermined position of the insulating case, a peep groove of the branch line terminal is provided on the terminal-side insulating case wall surface of the accommodated branch line, Further, in the insulating cover, the peep groove provided on the wall of the insulating case is exposed before the branch connection, that is, when each component of the branch connector is temporarily assembled, and after the branch connection, that is, each branch of the branch connector. A wall may be provided on the same surface as the wall surface of the insulating case so as to completely block the components when they are integrated.
Instead of the slots or grooves described above, other equivalent follower means may be applied.
The electric wire holding projection provided on the insulating case is integrally molded with resin so as to protrude on the outer surface of the insulating case and on the axis of the branch line to be accommodated. The electric wire holding projection is a quadrangular prism or a columnar shape having a center on the axis of the branch line to be accommodated, and the base is formed on a concave portion recessed toward the branch line from the outer surface of the branch line accommodating portion. Shall be provided. The recess is provided in order to partially reduce the thickness of the insulating case branch line accommodating portion immediately below the protrusion than the others.
With the above structure, the branch line is housed in an insulating case, and the wire holding projection is sandwiched by a tool such as pliers or pliers, and is pushed down to the housed branch line. Penetrates immediately below and protrudes toward the housed branch line, and the protruding protrusion presses the branch line against the inner wall of the housing portion to generate an electric wire holding action. After that, the wire holding projection is pressed against the side wall of the pierced portion, and is prevented from returning to the position before being pushed down, so that the generated wire holding action can be maintained.
