The conductive elastic material 10 has a function of electrically connecting the terminals of the liquid crystal display element by laminating the terminals in the direction A and the terminals of the circuit board in the direction B as shown in FIG. Have. As described above, when the liquid crystal display element is assembled as a module, the terminals of the liquid crystal display element and the terminals of the circuit board are electrically connected between the liquid crystal display element, which is a main component of the liquid crystal display device, and the circuit board. An elastic material including a conductive elastic material to be inserted is interposed, and the relative position of each component is mechanically held and fixed between the metal frame and the circuit board by utilizing the elasticity of the elastic material. However, it is generally used as a structure that is inexpensive and excellent in mass productivity.

However, in the liquid crystal display device having the above-mentioned conventional structure, the liquid crystal display element and the circuit board are compressed by an elastic material interposed therebetween to form a frame claw having a fixed claw. The fixing claw portion is deformed in the opposite direction to the compression direction by the repulsive stress of the elastic material (hereinafter, referred to as outward deformation) due to the metal frame having the metal frame and the circuit. There has been a problem that the thickness of the entire liquid crystal display device changes greatly beyond a predetermined size range of the substrate.

[0009] In recent years, in some devices used by mounting a liquid crystal display device, the thickness space allowed for mounting the liquid crystal display device has become smaller for the purpose of reducing the weight and thickness of the device. There is a demand for further reduction in the thickness of the display device. In order to respond to such demands, the components constituting the liquid crystal display device have been reduced in thickness, and especially the electronic circuit components mounted on the circuit board by means such as soldering have been reduced in thickness. I have.

In order to reduce the thickness of the liquid crystal display device, in the liquid crystal display device having the above-mentioned structure in which thin electronic circuit components are mounted, the height of the metal frame including the width in the thickness direction of the frame claw portion having the fixed claw is provided. Becomes the total thickness of the liquid crystal display device, so that the outward deformation of the fixed claw hinders the thinning of the liquid crystal display device. As a method for preventing the deformation of the fixing claws, there is also a means for increasing the strength by increasing the thickness of the metal frame. However, this not only increases the weight of the liquid crystal display device but also increases the fixing work for bending the fixing claws. Workability is reduced.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a liquid crystal display element, a circuit board, an elastic member, and a member surrounding the above-mentioned members together with the circuit substrate to reduce the elasticity of the elastic member. In a liquid crystal display device provided with a metal frame for mechanically fixing a relative position of each member by utilizing, a circuit board provided at an end of the frame so as to extend from the liquid crystal display element side beyond the circuit board. The fixing claw that bends and fixes it by pressing it from the outside so that the amount of outward deformation of the fixing claw does not exceed the maximum thickness allowed for the liquid crystal display device even if the fixing claw is deformed outward due to the repulsive stress of the elastic material. It is characterized by having.

As shown in the figure, the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention comprises a liquid crystal display element 7, a circuit board 6, a reflection sheet 2
2. The light diffusion sheet 23, the light guide plate 24, and other constituent members are laminated, and the frame 1 and the circuit board 6 are integrally fixed. After compressing the conductive elastic member 10 or the spacer 26 and other interposed elastic members (not shown) to fix the constituent members, the fixing claws of the frame claw portion 4 are moved in the stacking direction of the constituent members by the repulsive stress of the various elastic members. The outward deformation does not increase the total thickness of the liquid crystal display device.

As described above, according to the present invention,
The width of the distal end portion of the fixed claw formed on the frame claw portion of the metal frame is adjusted by the amount corresponding to the amount of outward deformation after the claw is fixed by the repulsive stress of the elastic material, or the base portion of the fixed claw, that is, by an amount larger than that. By making the shape smaller than the width in the thickness direction of the frame claw portion and gradually decreasing in the circuit board surface direction from the base portion toward the tip portion, the fixed claw is outward due to the repulsive stress of the elastic material after the claw is fixed. Even if deformed, the total height of the metal frame (that is, the thickness of the entire liquid crystal display device) does not change. Therefore, it is possible to maintain a predetermined total thickness without particularly increasing the thickness of the metal frame to have a high strength, to easily obtain a low-cost, high-mass productivity, and thinner liquid crystal display device. Can be.
