2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, with the development of communication technology such as image coding technology, two-way video communication such as a TV telephone and a TV conference system connecting remote locations with a video / audio communication network has been rapidly spreading. . In the future, the enhancement of the ISDN network and the increase in the bandwidth of the transmission network are expected to provide a more realistic video service.

FIG. 5 shows a display / imaging device currently used for two-way video communication. The imaging device 2 is located on the top or side surface of the display device 1 such as a CRT display, and the user M
Is performed. However, since a device using such a device looks at the normal display device 1, the user M does not look at the image capturing device 2 even if the image capturing is performed by the image capturing device 2. For this reason, there has been a drawback in that even if it is possible to transmit a video full of a high sense of reality, the conversation between the interlocutors is unnatural because their eyes do not match. Therefore, in order to configure a small and inexpensive display / imaging device that achieves eye-gaze matching, a method of configuring a semi-transparent mirror by combining a plurality of micro semi-transparent mirrors has been devised (see Japanese Patent Application No. 2-273400).

FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view of a semi-transparent mirror combined with a micro semi-transparent mirror, and FIG. 7 is a configuration diagram of a display / imaging apparatus when a semi-transparent mirror is configured by combining a plurality of micro semi-transparent mirrors. 4 in the figure
Is a transparent substrate, and 5 is a minute semi-transparent mirror, and both constitute a semi-transparent mirror 3. Θ indicates the inclination of the micro semi-transparent mirror 5 and w indicates the width. With such a configuration, as shown in the figure, a part of the incident light is reflected at a certain angle ψ. At this time, since the width w of the small semi-transparent mirror 5 can be reduced, the size of the display / imaging device can be reduced compared to the conventional method in which the semi-transparent mirror is installed at an angle.

However, FIG.
When the image is taken using the semi-transparent mirror 3 as shown in (1), a plurality of images are taken in addition to the image directly reflected from the reflecting surface, and the image quality of the taken image is remarkably deteriorated. The image that causes such a deterioration in image quality is a multiple reflection image reflected on the back surface of the semi-transmissive mirror 3 and an image resulting from the screen displayed on the display device 1 behind the semi-transparent mirror 3. As the former are shown in FIG. 8, a reflective image totally reflected by the back surface of the semi-transparent mirror 3, the angle of incidence is different from the normal reflected image was directly reflected by the semitransparent mirror 3 surface,
Reflected in the direction of the imaging device 2 and reflected from a normal reflection image
This is caused by an abnormal reflection image whose direction slightly changes . The latter is because the display screen is directly reflected on the imaging screen. Even if there is no direct reflection, light from the display screen is mixed into the imaging screen, so that the imaging screen is grayed out and sufficient contrast cannot be obtained. Therefore, in order to improve the quality of a captured image, it is urgently necessary to remove these images.

(Embodiment 1) FIG. 1 is a sectional view of a semi-transparent mirror 30 used in a display / image pickup apparatus of the present invention. Conventional semi-transparent mirror 3 shown in FIG.
The difference is that the anti-reflection layer 6 is formed on the back surface. By adjusting the anti-reflection layer 6 to have a multilayer structure, the reflectance is adjusted so as to decrease over the entire visible range. As a result, the intensity of light reflected by the back surface can be significantly reduced. As a result, the semi-transparent mirror 3 appearing on the imaging screen
Since the brightness of the reflected image from the back surface can be reduced, the image quality of the imaging screen can be improved. (Embodiment 2) FIG. 2 is a sectional view of another embodiment of the semi-transparent mirror 30 used in the display / image pickup apparatus of the present invention. The difference from FIG. 1 is that the light scattering layer 6A is formed on the back surface.
As the light scattering layer 6A, for example, minute irregularities are formed on the front surface of the rear surface of the transparent substrate 4, and the irregularities scatter light to prevent reflection in a specific direction. As a result, the reflected image from the back surface of the semi-transmissive mirror 30 that appears on the imaging screen can be completely removed. In addition, the user of the display / imaging device of the present invention views the display screen through the light scattering layer, but does not cause a large deterioration in the image quality of the display screen.

Further, in order to reduce the size of the display / imaging device, a liquid crystal display which is a flat display may be used for the display device 1, but the liquid crystal display has a drawback that the viewing angle is narrow. However, when the light scattering layer 6A is provided on the back surface of the semi-transparent mirror 30, the screen displayed on the liquid crystal display is scattered in an arbitrary direction.
There is also an effect that the viewing angle of the liquid crystal display is widened. (Embodiment 3) FIG. 3 shows a configuration diagram of a display / image pickup apparatus according to the present invention. In this embodiment, unlike a conventional display / imaging device, a semi-transparent mirror 30 having an antireflection film layer 6 or a light scattering layer 6A provided on the back surface of a transparent substrate 4 is used, and a display and an image are time-divided. The control device 7 is newly added. That is, at the timing shown in FIG. 4, a period A for performing imaging and a period B for displaying are provided, and during the period A, no display is performed on the display device 1 or black display is performed, and the display device 1 performs black display. Imaging is performed by the imaging device 2. Period B
In the example, the image is not captured, and the display device 1 performs a normal display. With such a configuration, it is possible to prevent the display screen from being reflected on the imaging screen. In particular, in the case of the second embodiment, the light scattered by the light scattering layer 6A provided on the back surface of the semi-transparent mirror 30 is directly mixed into the imaging device 2. In the present embodiment, the scattered light can be removed. Therefore, the image quality of the imaging screen can be significantly improved.

As described above, according to the present invention, an antireflection layer or a light scattering layer is provided on the back surface of a semi-transparent mirror composed of a plurality of micro semi-transparent mirrors to prevent reflection of an image. Removal can be performed, and the quality of a captured image can be improved.
