This invention relates to a roof carrier for mounting to a roof rail on a vehicle roof.
【0002】[0002]
BACKGROUND ART Conventionally, a technique of mounting a roof carrier for mounting skis or the like on an automobile and mounting it on a roof rail is well known. FIG. 4 is a sectional view showing an example of a means for attaching such a roof carrier 5 to the roof rail 4. Although details of the structure are omitted, the pair of roof rails 4 are provided on the left and right sides of the roof 3 of the vehicle body in parallel to each other in the front-rear direction, and the carrier 5 is mounted so as to straddle the rails 4. is there. The carrier 5 includes a support rod 6 extending left and right, a bracket 6A fixed to both ends thereof, and a hook member 6C engaging with the bracket 6A and the roof rail 4 via bolts 6B attached to the bracket 6A. The hook member 6C is provided with a knob nut 37 that can be screwed onto the bolt 6B and pressed against the hook member 6C from the outside, and the roof rail 4 is provided with an angle member 6E that is attached to the inside by a fixing bolt 6D.
The carrier 5 is attached as follows. First, the left and right angle members 6E are fixed to the roof rail 4 at positions where they lightly abut from the inside. Next, the hook member 6C is fitted to the bolt 6B on the outer side of the roof rail 4 and abuts on the roof rail 4 and the bracket 6A. Further, the knob nut 37 is screwed onto the bolt 6B and tightened to increase the abutting pressure of the hook member 6C to a required degree.
【0004】[0004]
In the above-mentioned roof carrier of the prior art, in order to mount it on the roof rail, it is necessary to adjust the position of the angle member and tighten the knob nut, and if the position adjustment of the angle member is poor, the knob nut will be removed. A force that bends the roof rail sideways may act when tightened. Therefore, this prior art carrier has the problem of being cumbersome to install.
Therefore, according to this invention, when the operation knob is tightened, the bracket main body can be supported on the roof rail in cooperation with the hook member arranged opposite to the bracket main body, and the bracket main body and the sandwiching member supported to be movable up and down. An object of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned problem by supporting the rod of the roof carrier by pinching it in cooperation with the hook member.
【0006】[0006]
In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention attaches a support rail supporting a mounted object to a roof rail extending in the front-rear direction of a vehicle body through a bracket so that the supporting rod is orthogonal to the roof rail. The main body, the bolt, the operation knob, the holding member, and the hook member, and the bolt that penetrates the bracket main body in a direction orthogonal to the roof rail and projects to the outside of the bracket main body. An operation knob for abutting the outer surface of the bracket main body against the outer surface of the bracket is screwed in such a manner that the bracket main body can be rotated forward and backward along the spiral, and the bracket main body is attached to the inner end of the bolt. A clamping portion that supports a hook member that faces the inside of the bracket, and the clamping member that opposes the upper wall of the bracket body and that cooperates with the upper wall to clamp the supporting rod. , A pair of legs extending downward from both sides of the pressing portion, the legs are slidably inserted into the upper wall from the pressing portion in the vertical direction, and the operation knob is rotated. When the distance between the bracket body and the hook member is narrowed by the relative movement of the bracket body and the hook member along the bolt, the roof rail is moved from the width direction of the bracket body and the hook member at respective lower portions. Each of the lower portions is formed so as to be able to be clamped, and with the movement of the hook member, the hooking member is slidably contacted with a sliding contact portion interposed between the pair of leg portions, and the holding member is interposed via the sliding contact portion. The roof carrier is characterized in that an upper portion of the hook member is formed so as to be capable of being pressed downward.

The details of the roof carrier according to the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the vehicle body roof 3 showing a usage state of the bracket 10. It is installed. The roof carrier 5 includes a support rod 6 that straddles the roof rail 4, a mount holder 7 that slides along the support rod 6 and can be fixed at a desired position, and a bracket 10. Although the required number of holders 7 can be attached, normally, two holders 7 are arranged opposite to each other on the left and right of one support rod 6, and the bracket 10 is provided with the support rods 6. Are arranged opposite to each other at both left and right ends. The bracket 10 is composed of a bracket body 11, a sandwiching member 12 located above the bracket body 11, a hook member 13 located inside the bracket body 11, and a bolt 35 described later having an operation knob 37. is there.
FIG. 2 is a view taken along the line 2-2 of FIG. 1 which divides the bracket 10 in the front-rear direction, and shows the internal structure of the bracket 10 which is symmetrical with respect to the line 2-2 in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body. The bracket main body 11 has a pair of side walls 15 facing each other in the front-rear direction, an end wall 16 interposed between the side walls 15 and an upper wall 17, and a lower part of the side wall 15 has an inverted L-shape. A mating recess 18 is formed. The end wall 16 has a horizontal bearing hole 19, and the upper wall 17 has a vertical guide hole 27. By locking a gap adjusting pad 21 made of rubber, synthetic rubber, soft plastic, or the like to both round bosses 20 provided on the outer lower portion and the inner lower portion of the engaging recessed portion 18, this is tensioned to the engaging recessed portion 18. is there.
The sandwiching member 12 is interposed between a pair of a substantially upper leg portion 25A and a narrow lower leg portion 25B facing each other in the front-rear direction, and is interposed between both leg portions 25A so as to be parallel to and supported by the upper wall 17 of the bracket body 11 and above. The rod 6 has a pinching portion 26 that can be pressed into contact with the rod 6 from above, and both leg portions 25B are vertically slidably inserted into the guide holes 27 of the bracket body 11. Further, a sliding contact portion 28 having a circular cross section is interposed between both leg portions 25B.
The hook member 13 is formed from an inverted C-shaped plate facing the inside of the bracket body 11 in the drawing (see also FIG. 1), and has a lower end portion below and / or on the side of the roof rail 4. An engaging portion 31 for one side and an engaging portion 32 that slidably contacts the sliding contact portion 28 from above at the upper end portion. There is a horizontal square hole 33 between the engaging portions 31 and 32, and the square neck portion of the bolt 35 having the head portion 35A and the square neck portion 35B is rotated from the right side of the drawing so as to be orthogonal to the roof rail 4. The hook member 13 is supported by being immovably fitted. The bolt 35 further penetrates the bearing hole 19 of the bracket body 11, and the operation knob 37 is rotatably engaged with the spiral portion 38 of the end portion 36 extending outward of the bracket body 11. The knob 37 is fitted with an abutment ring 39 having a central screw hole on its inner convex portion, and has a concave hole 40 larger than its hole diameter. In the recessed hole 40, a flat washer 42 larger than the bolt diameter is attached to the extension end of the bolt 35 to prevent the knob 37 from coming off the bolt 35. In the bolt 35, the expansion spring 45 is interposed between the end wall 16 and the hook member 13 which are opposed to each other, and the hook member 13 is pressed in a direction away from the end wall 16. A flat washer 47 and a spring washer 46 are interposed between the outer surface of the end wall 16 and the abutment ring 39.
In the bracket 10 configured as described above, the roof main body 11 and the hook member 13 pinch the roof rail 4 from the width direction, while the bracket main body 11 and the pinching member 12 pinch the supporting rod 6 so that the roof 6 is sandwiched. The carrier 5 can be attached to the roof rail 4. The clamping pressure on the roof rail 4 and the supporting rod 6 can be obtained by rotating the operation knob 37 clockwise to tighten it. That is, when the knob 37 is tightened in this way, the knob 37 advances to the right to move the end wall 16 and the hook member 13 closer to each other against the spring 45, and acts to reduce the distance between them, thereby increasing the clamping force, Further, in the approaching hook member 13, the upper left tilted slidable sliding contact surface 32A of the engaging portion 32 presses and slides on the sliding contact portion 28 to press the holding member 12 downward to slide it. To increase the clamping force.
FIG. 3 is a drawing similar to FIG. 2 before the bracket 10 presses the roof rail 4 and the supporting rod 6, and is partially cut away. When the knob 37 is rotated in the clockwise direction A, the bracket body 11 and the hook member 13 relatively move in the directions of arrows B and C, and at the same time, the holding member 12 moves in the direction of arrow D.
In the bracket 10 in the illustrated state, since the spring 45 extends and engages with each other, the free movement of each of the bracket body 11, the sandwiching member 12, and the hook member 13 is constrained. The positions of the main body and the members are substantially constant, and it is easy to position the bracket 10 with respect to the roof rail 4 and the supporting rod 6, handle the product after manufacturing it, and package it. The bracket 10 can be used without the spring 45, but without it, the bracket body 11 can rotate freely around the bolt 35, and the hook member 13 can be removed from the square neck portion 35B of the bolt 35. Since the direction cannot be easily determined, the bracket 10 has extremely poor operability.
Further, in the bracket 10, even if the cross-sectional shape of the roof rail 4 is circular, elliptical, rectangular, or any other shape not shown, the horizontal portion 18A and the vertical portion 18B of the engaging recess 18 below the bracket body 11 are formed. On the two sides (see FIG. 3), the pad 21 can be surely received, and there is an advantage that it can be commonly used for various roof rails. Although the sandwiching member 12 and the hook member 13 having the illustrated shapes also have such advantages, the bracket body 11 and the sandwiching member 12 are used as a common member for various roof rails and supporting rods, and only the hook member 13 is used. The shape of the roof rail 4 can be changed according to the type.
The bracket 10 can be manufactured from an appropriate material such as steel, aluminum, or plastic.
【0018】[0018]
The roof carrier according to this invention has the following effects. (1) Since the bracket body, the sandwiching member, and the hook member can move relative to each other by simply tightening the operation knob to clamp the roof rail and the supporting rod, the roof carrier can be mounted extremely easily. 2). (2) Since the engaging recess of the bracket main body facing the lower engaging portion of the hook member can press the roof rail in cooperation with the lower engaging portion, the bracket main body is securely attached to the roof rail. (Claims 2 and 3). (3) Since the gap adjusting pad is stretched in the engaging recess, the engaging recess of the bracket main body can be stably engaged even when the cross-sectional size and shape of the roof rail differ depending on the vehicle type and model. (Claim 4).
