On the surface of a molded product obtained by compression-molding a sheet molding compound (hereinafter referred to as SMC), fine holes called pinholes and defects such as sink marks generated on the back surface of ribs and bosses are generated. One of the measures against pinholes and sink marks is the in-mold coating method (hereinafter referred to as IMC).

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 5, the IMC in the injection molding forms the cavity 1A in the fixed mold 1 and transfers the molten resin from the molten resin injection port 1B formed in the parting surface 3 with the movable mold 2 through the cavity 1A. When the molten resin is initially cured, the movable mold 2 is opened several millimeters, IMC paint is injected into the mold through the paint injection hole 4, and the movable mold 2 is pressurized and held for a specified time. After the paint is cured, the mold is opened and the molded product is taken out.

In the SMC IMC, the mold is opened slightly during
When injecting C paint, there is no special countermeasure because the upper and lower molds have fitting sliding surfaces around the mold cavities. However, in the injection molding, as shown in FIG. 2, the molten resin is injected into the cavity in a state where the fixed mold 1 and the movable mold 2 are abutted on the parting surface 3.
Since the molten resin injection port 1B is provided on the parting surface 3 of the mold, the movable mold 2 is slightly opened to open the paint 7 injected into the mold.
However, as shown in FIG. 5, there arises a problem that leakage occurs along the parting surface 3 due to the injection pressure and the pressurization of the movable mold 2.

Next, the paint is injected into the mold from the paint inlet and pressurized, the paint injected into the mold is sealed with a sealing ring, and covers only the surface of the cured resin molded product, and is outside the mold. Not leak. After holding the coating in this state for a predetermined period of time to cure the paint, the mold is opened and the molded product is taken out.
