2. Description of the Related Art Failure to miss a desired television program is common even today, when television has been around for a long time.
The main cause of this failure is that the broadcast date and time are mistaken, or that the user is distracted and forgets. In addition, although the television is turned on so as to be in time for the broadcast time, the channel may be mistaken and the user may not notice this. In this case, since a program different from the desired program is output on the screen and then changed to the correct channel, the beginning part is missed.

As a countermeasure, there is a method in which a desired program is reserved for recording in a video recording device (so-called video tape recorder). However, such a recording apparatus has a wide variety of settings such as a recording start time, a channel setting of a recorded program, a recording end time, and the like, and the setting requires a great deal of labor and familiarity. Therefore, a function to read the recording start time using a barcode and to record the same program at the same time every week, using a barcode, so that elderly people who are not used to machine operation can easily make recording reservations can be set. A recording device provided with the device has also been proposed.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, even in such a recording apparatus, since a so-called convention such as a barcode is used, the operation is not intuitive and the operation is complicated.
In particular, when recording programs on different channels with continuous broadcast time, or when the same program is broadcast at different times of the week, the setting is extremely complicated even with the use of barcodes. turn into. In the case of a barcode, a reading error may occur.

First, information including at least the program content of the television, its start time, and the broadcast channel is taken into the broadcast content receiving device from the outside via the input means. Here, as the program content of the television (hereinafter, also simply referred to as program content), a program name, an abbreviation thereof, and a phrase representing the content (for example, “news”, “golf”, etc.) can be considered. From the information thus captured, the channel display means
The program contents are extracted and displayed on the television receiver in one of vertical and horizontal directions for each channel difference, and the broadcast order display means displays the program of the same channel in the broadcast order in a direction perpendicular to the one direction. The images are displayed side by side on the television receiver. As a result, the program content is displayed on the television receiver in a table format substantially the same as the program column of the newspaper.

In this state, the desired broadcast content is selected by the position designation means, the identification display means, and the setting means. The position designation means is for designating an arbitrary program content from the program content displayed in the table format, and can be realized by, for example, a touch board, a mouse or a light pen. The identification display means displays a screen display of the program content displayed at the position designated by the position designation means so as to be distinguishable from the program content at the position not designated. Then, when operated, the setting means sets a portion displayed identifiable by the identification display means as a desired broadcast program.

When an arbitrary position on the screen is designated by the setting means, the channel complementing means takes out the channel corresponding to the program at that position from the information taken in by the input means and sets it as the desired program channel. In substantially the same manner, the start time complementing means extracts the start time corresponding to the program at that position from the information taken in by the input means and sets it as the start time of the desired program. Then, based on the information corresponding to the set program content, the broadcast content output means causes the tuner to extract a broadcast channel corresponding to the program content at the start time.

In other words, the channel is selected based on the program contents, instead of the number or the like corresponding to each channel as in the related art. Moreover, since the display on the television receiver is in the form of a table as described above, the start time of each program content is visually represented by omitting the abstract information of the number representing the time. This allows the operator to recognize abstract and easily erroneous information such as a channel and a start time by comparing it with program contents of different channels or program contents broadcast before and after the same channel. be able to. Therefore, the user is intuitively instructed to pay attention to whether the program is erroneous with a similar program at a different channel or an adjacent time.

The reservation of the program contents is completed by designating the position where the desired program contents are displayed by the position designating means and operating the setting means. During this period, abstraction such as designation of a channel and designation of a start time is performed. There is no need to handle information. The omitted start time is required when the broadcast content output means causes the tuner to extract a channel. For this, the start time complementing means is complemented by information taken in from the outside by the input means. Also, the channel is not specified by the position specifying means, but is complemented by information by the channel complementing means.

That is, the operator of the broadcast content receiving apparatus can make a reservation with the same feeling as selecting a desired program by looking at a program column such as a newspaper. That is, the program contents displayed in a table format on the television receiver may be viewed, the desired program contents may be designated by the position designation means, and the desired program contents may be set by the setting means. Moreover, the position designated by the position designation means is displayed so as to be distinguishable from other positions by the identification display means. For this reason, it is not only very visual and easy to understand, but also there is no fear that the contents of the next program are mistakenly reserved. For this reason, reservation mistakes are very unlikely to occur.

Further, as in the broadcast content receiving apparatus according to the second aspect, the input means also captures the end time of each program (or the broadcast time: the time from the start to the end of the program), and displays the broadcast order. If the means displays each program in parallel in the order in which it is broadcast, each program is displayed in a size substantially proportional to its broadcast time, so that the program can be further improved.

On the other hand, regardless of the broadcast time, if all programs are set to the same size and displayed together, even if multiple programs are displayed, it is determined whether or not there is a relationship between the desired program to be broadcast on multiple channels and the counterprogram. become unable to know. In this regard, according to the present invention as set forth in claim 2, the broadcast time can be intuitively grasped depending on the size of each program displayed, and whether or not there is a relationship of the counter program is determined. Is very easy to understand.

In the broadcast content receiving device according to the third aspect, the broadcast content of the channel extracted by the tuner by the broadcast content output means is:
It has a video recording device for recording. Therefore,
When the program name is displayed in the above table format, a desired program is designated by the position designation means and selected by the setting means, the program is recorded in the video recording device.

Next, the processing executed by the CPUs 31 and 51 of the recording reservation card 1 and the VTR 3 will be described with reference to the illustration of the program guide shown in FIG. 4 and the flowcharts shown in FIGS.
When the recording reservation card 1 is mounted on the VTR 3 and turned on, the card-side processing routine shown in FIG. 5 is started, and first, processing such as initialization of the cursor position is performed (step S1).
100). The initial position of the cursor is a predetermined origin, and in the program guide shown in FIG. 4, the program of the channel with the smallest number and the earliest time zone (program A in this embodiment)
This is the position corresponding to 1). Thereafter, a program table is read from the ROM 32 (step 110), and a process of outputting the program data in the area corresponding to the cursor position and the data at the cursor position to the VTR 3 via the input / output port 38 is performed (step 120). That is, since the entire program table cannot be displayed on the television receiver 5 at one time, one screen of program data is output centering on the position of the cursor.
The output program data is temporarily stored in the RAM 5 via the connector 30.
3 and later, under the control of the CPU 51, the video signal output unit 70
, Where it is converted to a video signal and then output to the television receiver 5. In other words, the connection unit 10 and the CPU 51 that performs the process of taking in the program data from the connection unit 10 take in information related to the broadcast contents from the external ROM 32 via the connector 30 and the like, and thus correspond to input means of the present invention. . Then, the process of step 120 is a process that combines the channel display means and the broadcast order display means of the present invention. Then, the process waits until a key provided on the surface of the recording reservation card 1 is operated (step 130), and the process proceeds to step 140 and subsequent steps according to the input key.

If the input key is a cursor key, the cursor data corresponding to one of the operated keys 21 to 24 is output (step 140), and the cursor position information stored in the RAM 33 is changed according to the structure of the program table. Then, a process of updating is performed (step 150). For example, when the cursor is at the position of the program C3 shown in FIG.
Is operated, the data is output from the video signal output unit 70 of the VTR 3, and the cursor position information in the recording reservation card 1 is updated from the program C3 to the position of the program C2. When the right arrow cursor key 24 is operated, the cursor position information is updated from the program C3 to the position of the program D3. After the above processing, the process returns to step 120 and executes the processing of step 120 and subsequent steps again. Therefore, if the cursor is moved out of the currently displayed area,
By the processing of step 120, the displayed program area is also updated.

In the judgment of step 130, the input key is the “setting” key 1
If it is determined to be 1, the start time of the program corresponding to the current cursor position information and its channel number are
Read from M32 (step 160). Here, the process of reading the start time of the program corresponds to the start time complementing means of the present invention, and the process of reading the channel corresponds to the channel complementing means of the present invention. Then, set the recording start time to VTR3 CPU51.
(Step 170). For example, if the cursor is on the program C3, the start time of this program 8
At hour 45, channel CH5 is read and output. That is, the setting key 11 corresponds to the setting means of the present invention. Then, the end time of the program is read out (step 18).

On the other hand, when the "weekly" key 12 is input, the program stored in the ROM 3 is searched for the programs of the next week and thereafter (step 20).
0), it is determined whether or not a program identical to the program where the cursor is currently located exists in the next week or later (step 21).
0). If the same program exists after the next week, read and output of the start time and channel including the date of the program and read and output of the end time are performed in the same manner as when the "SET" key is operated as described above ( Steps 160-190). If there is no identical program, the process returns to step 120 and the process is repeated from key input. By this processing, even when the same program is broadcasted in a different time zone after the next week, it can be easily reserved. The processing on the VTR 3 will be described later.

If the input key is the "continuous" key 13 in step 130, a process of canceling the end time of a continuous program among a plurality of programs set so far is performed (step 220). As a result, when recording of a plurality of continuous programs (including different channels and the same channel) is set, the power of the VTR 3 is not turned off every time the broadcast time of one program ends.

Effect of the Invention As described in detail above, according to the broadcast content receiving apparatus of the first aspect of the present invention, the program content is visually displayed in a table format on the television receiver. This allows the operator to recognize the abstract and easily erroneous information such as the channel and the start time by comparing it with the program contents of different channels or the program contents broadcast before and after the same channel. be able to. Therefore, the user is intuitively instructed to pay attention to whether the program is erroneous with a similar program at a different channel or an adjacent time.

The reservation of the program contents is completed by specifying the position where the desired program contents are displayed from the program contents displayed in the table format by the position specifying means and operating the setting means. During this time, there is no need to handle abstract information such as channels and start times. The start time is supplemented by the start time supplementing means, and the channel is supplemented by the channel complementing means.

Therefore, according to the broadcast content receiving apparatus of claim 1,
If connection is made in advance so that the video signal of the extracted channel is displayed on a desired image output device (for example, a television receiver) and the above operation is performed before the broadcast time, the desired broadcast content is displayed. You can see it from the beginning. In the conventionally proposed method of displaying the broadcast content and its barcode side by side, and inputting the barcode to the device, the barcode is read one step wrong and the broadcast content displayed next to the desired broadcast content is read. However, there is a risk of selecting
According to the broadcast content receiving device described above, the screen position where the broadcast content is displayed is displayed in a different display state from the other positions, so that this does not occur.

In the broadcast content receiving apparatus according to the second aspect, the input means also captures the end time (or broadcast time) of each program, and the broadcast order display means displays each program in a size substantially proportional to the broadcast time. Since the contents of each program are displayed in parallel in the order in which they are broadcast, the broadcast time can be intuitively grasped depending on the size of each program displayed, and whether or not there is a relationship between the back programs Is very easy to understand.
