Description: TECHNICAL FIELD [0001] The present invention relates to a rechargeable battery, and includes:
A battery type identification body is provided. (Background of the Invention) A rechargeable battery used as a power supply battery for various electric devices is:
In general, the battery is formed in exactly the same shape as the dry battery for the convenience of mounting on an electric device, and both are hardly distinguishable in appearance. For this reason, the user may mistakenly charge the dry battery as a rechargeable battery, and when the charging circuit of the charger is driven and the charging battery flows, the dry battery will simply leak and the dry battery will be damaged. In addition, there is a risk of explosion, so that accidental charging of the dry cell must be prevented as much as possible. (Object of the Invention) The present invention has been made in view of the above points,
An object of the present invention is to provide a rechargeable battery that can reliably identify dry batteries, rechargeable batteries having different charging currents, different capacities, and the like when charged by a charger. (Summary of the Invention) According to the present invention, as a means for identifying types such as a rechargeable battery and a dry battery, or the capacity of a rechargeable battery, a switch provided in a charging circuit of a charger is detected and the switch is provided. The rechargeable battery is provided with a battery type identifier for operating the rechargeable battery, whereby the charging circuit is driven and charged only when the rechargeable battery is mounted on the charger, and the battery is incorrectly mounted. Also, the charging circuit is not driven. In addition, this type of rechargeable battery is repeatedly attached to and detached from a charger or an electric device many times, and if the object is damaged or soiled by hitting the discriminating object at the time of attachment or detachment, the identification function is deteriorated. Then, the above purpose cannot be achieved.
Therefore, in the present invention, the discriminating body is arranged on the side of the base end of the protruding electrode of the rechargeable battery. In this way, the protruding power source is used to prevent objects and the like from hitting the discriminating body. Protect and prevent it from getting dirty or damaged,
The discrimination function is prevented from deteriorating. (Example) Next, an example of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In FIG. 1, 1 is a rechargeable battery, and 2 is a charger for charging the rechargeable battery 1. The charger 2 is composed of a box-shaped main body case 4 in which a wiring board 3 is built, and charges the rechargeable battery 1 by mounting the rechargeable battery 1 on a mounting portion 5 having a groove-shaped recess on the upper surface thereof. Reference numerals 6 and 7 denote terminal members elastically contacting the positive-side protruding electrode 8 and the negative-side electrode 9 protruding from the outer wall of the battery 1. Reference numeral 10 denotes a power supply plug blade. Numeral 11 denotes a battery type identifier comprising a ring-shaped magnet, which is disposed on the side of the end of the projecting electrode 8 so as to surround the projecting electrode 8 (see also FIG. 2). . FIG. 3 shows a charging circuit disposed on the wiring board 3, wherein 10 is the plug blade, 12 is a step-down transformer for stepping down a commercial power supply voltage to a voltage required for charging, and 13 is a zener diode for constant voltage. is there. Reference numeral 14 denotes a switch unit comprising a relay. When the rechargeable battery 1 is mounted on the mounting unit 5, the identification unit 11
, The charging circuit is driven and the rechargeable battery 1 is charged. That is, the identification body 11 is detected by the switch section 14 and operates the switch section 14. By providing the identification body 11 in the rechargeable battery in this way, the rechargeable battery 1 and the dry battery can be reliably distinguished. Even if a dry battery having no identification body 11 is erroneously mounted on the mounting portion 5, the charging circuit is driven and no charging current flows through the charging circuit. (Other Embodiments) In FIGS. 4 (a) and 4 (b), a box-shaped rechargeable battery 21 has protruding electrodes 22, 23 protruding from its end face. Two
Reference numeral 4 denotes a battery type identifier comprising a light reflecting tape disposed between the protruding electrodes 22 and 23. Reference numeral 25 denotes a charger provided with terminal portions 26 and 27 fitted to the protruding electrodes 22 and 23, respectively. Reference numeral 30 denotes a switch unit including a light-emitting element 28 and a light-receiving element 29.
9 faces the identification body 24 and is irradiated from the light emitting section 28 to
When the light reflected by 4 is detected by light receiving element 29, the charging circuit built in charger 25 is driven, and rechargeable battery 21 is charged. (Other Embodiments) In FIGS. 5 (a) and 5 (b), reference numeral 32 denotes a liquid leakage absorbing material attached to the end face of the rechargeable battery 1, and a conductive resistance paste is applied to the outer surface thereof. A battery type identifier 33 is formed. Numeral 34 denotes a switch unit comprising contacts 35 and 36 provided on the charger side. When the rechargeable battery 1 is mounted on the charger,
The contacts 35 and 36 come into contact with and make contact with the discriminator 33, and the charging circuit is driven. (Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the present invention, the battery type identifier
11, the rechargeable battery 1 and the dry battery, or the rechargeable batteries having different capacities and the like can be easily distinguished from each other, and even if the dry battery is mistakenly attached to the charger 2, it is possible to reliably prevent the charging current from flowing through the charger. Also, since the identification body 11 is provided on the side of the base end of the protruding electrode 8, it is protected by the protruding electrode 8 so that objects and the like do not hit, and the rechargeable battery 1 is detached from the charger or the electric device many times. Even so, it is possible to prevent the discrimination function from being deteriorated due to soiling or damage.
