Conventionally, metal plates have less flexibility in molding than synthetic resins, but have high mechanical strength such as abrasion and breakage. In many cases, insert molding in which a portion to which is added is made of a metal plate, and other portions and complicated portions are made of a synthetic resin.

In a cosmetic container or the like, imparting a metallic luster to the surface has been one means of giving the container a high-grade appearance.
It is possible to form a metal film on the surface of synthetic resin products by means such as vapor deposition to give metallic luster,
The durability, such as abrasion resistance, was inferior to the metallic luster of the metal plate itself. Therefore, when a metal luster is to be applied to a part that constantly touches, such as a push button of a compact case, or a part that constantly rubs, such as a corner part, a metal plate is insert-molded to the part.

FIG. 5 shows a conventional example of this metal plate. As described above, the flange 8 must be formed around the synthetic resin base 3 and the metal plate 1, and the flange 8 must be embedded in the synthetic resin base 3. The flange 8 was formed by bending the periphery of the metal plate 1. Therefore, the edge 9 of the metal plate 1 exposed to the outside is rounded, and it is difficult to sharpen the edge 9. Therefore, the surface of the metal plate 1 and the surface of the base 3 of the synthetic resin are naturally continuous. It was difficult to do.

As a specific embodiment of the present invention, a case where a decorated metal plate 1 is insert-molded on a plate will be described.
The metal plate 1 includes an exposed portion 2 exposed to the outside and a buried portion 4 buried in a base 3 of a synthetic resin. The buried portion 4 has a tongue shape projecting from the middle of the end face of the exposed portion 2 and further projecting downward. The base 3 also covers the buried portion 4, and the upper surface of the base 3 and the upper surface of the exposed portion 2 are smoothly continuous.

Next, a method for manufacturing the metal plate 1 according to the present invention will be described. The base material 5 is an aluminum plate having a thickness of about 0.5 mm. First, this base material 5 is formed into a shape of the exposed portion 2 by half the thickness.
Punching is performed to the extent possible. As a result, a shear portion 6 having a thickness of about 1/2 of the wall thickness is formed around the exposed portion 2, and the exposed portion 2 is formed.
Becomes protruding. The base material 5 in this state is subjected to a surface treatment such as an anodic oxide film treatment, and a decorative surface 7 such as a metallic luster is provided on the exposed portion 2. At this time, the shearing portion 6 is also subjected to a surface treatment. When the base material 5 is punched while leaving the periphery of the exposed portion 2, the embedded portion 4 is formed on the side surface of the exposed portion 2.

The present invention relates to a metal plate 1 used for insert molding.
The present invention can be applied not only to the case where the exposed portion 2 is a flat plate but also to the case where the shape of the exposed portion 2 is a dish-shaped metal plate 1 such as a cover of a compact case or a body cover. . In this case, after the base material 5 is press-formed into a predetermined shape such as a dish shape, a punching process may be performed while leaving about half the thickness of the exposed portion 2.

In addition, the present invention can be applied to not only the material of the base material 5 but also all metals used for decoration, such as gold, silver, copper, copper alloy, stainless steel or titanium. In this case, it goes without saying that surface treatment suitable for the metal is performed.

According to the present invention, as described above, the metal base material 5 is formed by punching while leaving about half of the thickness, thereby forming the exposed portion 2 exposed from the base portion 3 of the synthetic resin. The part 9 is a shearing part 6, and the edge part 9 is sharp. Therefore, when the metal plate 1 of the present invention is insert-molded, the surface of the metal plate 1 and the surface of the synthetic resin can be smoothly continued. Further, since the embedded portion 4 is formed by punching, the size can be reduced as compared with the case where the embedded portion 4 is formed by bending or the like, so that the base 3 of the synthetic resin to be insert-molded can be reduced in size.
