As shown in FIG. 6, this type of transceiver divides the inside of a rectangular plastic casing 1 made of a hard plastic into two parts, a front chamber 3 and a rear chamber 4 by a central partition wall 2. A semiconductor element (not shown) having a function of converting an optical signal is accommodated therein, and a lid (not shown) on the surface is closed and hermetically sealed. This semiconductor device has an insertion pin (not shown) protruding from the back surface of the transceiver, and is connected to a computer by inserting the pin. As shown in FIG. 7, a portion of the central partition wall 2 on the side of the front chamber 3 is
A cylindrical light emitting element nose portion 5 for converting an electric signal into an optical signal and outputting the same is projected, and a cylindrical light receiving element nose portion 6 for converting an optical signal into an electric signal and inputting the same. ing. And, on the base side of both nose parts 5,6,
Grooves 5a and 6a are formed respectively. In FIG. 6, reference numeral 8 denotes a pin for attaching a transceiver, and 9 denotes a window for latching with a connector plug. Reference numeral 16 denotes a lead pin for converting an electric signal with the board in the computer. The connection between the board in the computer and the transceiver is performed by soldering the lead pin 16 and the mounting pin 8 to the board. When soldering, a flux is generally used to improve the wettability, but the residual flux has an adverse effect on electronic components, and is usually washed with freon or water.

However, during this cleaning, fluorocarbons and water containing flux enter and remain in the nose, causing a problem of lowering the optical input / output, so that the transceiver cannot be directly used for cleaning or the like. Therefore, the present inventor considers the sixth
As shown in the figure, the idea was to seal the entrance of the front chamber 3 of the transceiver by inserting the insertion portion 11 of the waterproof cap 10 made of hard rubber. Reference numeral 12 denotes an operation unit, 13 denotes a non-slip portion, and 14 denotes a nose hole for accommodating the nose portions 5 and 6. However, the waterproof cap 10 is made of hard rubber, and its dimensions are slightly changed due to a difference in shrinkage of the rubber material. Therefore, there is a slight variation in the formation position of the nose hole 14,
Due to this variation, the close fitting state of the nose hole 14 and the nose portions 5 and 6 varies, and the waterproof cap 10 and the casing 1 and the nose portions 5 and 6 are made of different materials and have different thermal expansion rates. When the material expands and contracts, the contact between the nose hole 14 and the nose portions 5 and 6 deteriorates, and water flows between the nose hole 14 and the nose portions 5 and 6 at the time of the above-mentioned water washing, and the cylindrical nose portion 6 and , The inside of the nose portion is contaminated, and the input and output of light is reduced.

That is, in the waterproof cap for a transceiver according to the present invention, the elastic insertion portion to be inserted into the opening of the front chamber of the casing is branched into two branches, and the nose holes are formed in each branch portion. Even if the dimensions of the nose and the nose do not exactly coincide with each other, the error is absorbed by the elastic deformation of the bifurcated branch and the nose and the nose hole are tightly fitted. In addition, the deterioration of the close fitting state between the nose portion and the nose hole due to the difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion between the nose portion and the nose hole can be eliminated by the elastic deformation of the branch portion. In addition, since the outer periphery at the base side of the insertion portion is formed in a close-contact seal portion that is in close contact with the inner periphery of the opening of the front chamber, even if pressure is applied during the above-described water washing, the close-contact seal portion causes water to flow. Is prevented temporarily. Therefore, water does not enter the nose portion during washing.

As described above, the transceiver waterproof cap of the present invention branches the elastic insertion portion fitted into the front chamber of the transceiver into two branches and forms a nose hole in each branch portion. Even if the distance between the light emitting element nose part and the light receiving element nose part provided in the diverging part and the distance between the first and second nose holes formed in each branch part are slightly shifted, each branch part is elastic. Deforms to absorb the shift. Accordingly, the work of inserting the waterproof cap is facilitated, and at the same time, the close fitting of the nose hole to the outer periphery of the nose portion is improved, and a good watertight state is maintained. In addition, since the outer periphery of the base side of the insertion portion is formed in the close contact seal portion which is in close contact with the inner wall surface of the front chamber opening of the transceiver, primary waterproofing is performed at this portion. The water that has passed therethrough is secondarily waterproofed by close fitting of the nose hole and the nose portion. Therefore, even if strong washing is performed, water does not intrude into the nose portion to cause a decrease in light input / output. Also, the waterproof cap of the present invention can be used as an entrance cover when storing the transceiver,
It also has an effect of preventing intrusion of dust and the like during storage.
