Conventionally, the voltage detection device has an over / under voltage detection circuit of the output voltage to improve the maintenance function of the communication system, etc.
It has a function of detecting an abnormal output voltage, stopping the power supply, and transmitting a power supply alarm signal.

In the conventional voltage detection device described above, the over / under voltage detection circuit stops the power supply according to the detection signal,
It is necessary to prevent malfunction due to variations in the detection level, variations in the output voltage, and fluctuations in the relative detection level due to noise, etc., and the center value of the detection level is set to be shifted from the output voltage by 20 to 30%. Although this over / under voltage detection circuit is effective for detecting catastrophic failure of the power supply, it cannot detect the guaranteed operation range of the integrated circuit (IC) as a load of ± 5%, and the system speeds up. Now, timing deviations due to power supply voltage fluctuations have caused fatal system errors. If the output voltage is clamped to an intermediate level due to power supply malfunction, overload, etc., a power supply alarm can be issued. There is an accident that causes a system error in the absence. Such an accident often occurs when the load becomes heavier than before and the output voltage of the power supply decreases due to the addition of a system or the like.

FIG. 2 is a diagram showing the operation of the embodiment, where c is the fluctuation range of the power supply output voltage, b and d are the fluctuation ranges of the detection value of the over / under voltage detection circuit 4, and f is the normal operation of the load side IC. G indicates a voltage range in which the system operates, and g indicates a fluctuation range of the voltage detection circuit 5. Further, e1 and e2 are noise margins. Conventionally, in the over / under voltage detection range, c + e1 or c + e2 does not overlap in the entire fluctuation region, so that the center value is largely shifted. Therefore, the lower limit or the upper limit of f is halfway between b and d, and there is a case where the power supply alarm cannot be issued even if the value is out of the range of f. In one embodiment of the present invention, since the detection range of g is set to cover f, the range of variation may enter into the region of c, but the variation occurs stochastically, so that The probability of generating a power alarm is extremely small. Since the voltage detection circuit 5 has an alarm sending capability but does not stop the power supply operation, when the output of the power supply falls within a range that does not cause a system error, it is necessary to notify the maintenance personnel of the power supply abnormality while maintaining the power supply operation. Can be

As described above, the maintenance of the system can be performed by the advance notice signal for notifying the power supply abnormality. However, for easier maintenance, a warning lamp may be provided in the power supply itself as shown in FIG. . That is, in the figure, reference numeral 6b denotes a relay contact for transmitting a signal, which is closed by the operation of the power alarm signal transmitting circuit 6, and turns on the warning lamp 10 through the resistor 9. Note that, instead of the warning lamp, an operation display lamp often used in a normal power supply may be extinguished.
