（イ） 産業上の利用分野
本発明は所定のカードの挿入により、物品の提供に特
典を付与できる物品提供装置に関する。
（ロ） 従来の技術
この発明の対象となる物品提供装置とは自動販売機ま
たは自動貸出機であるが、自動販売機における従来技術
としては特公昭50−22438号公報に示されている構成が
あり、これは予め登録された所定のカードを挿入した客
に対しては、割引きして販売を行なうものである。また
実開昭61−12176号公報には、カード投入者に対しては
割引き販売の割引き額をカードに記録して返却する構成
が示されている。
（ハ） 発明が解決しようとする問題点
このようにカードの投入者に対して所定の特典を付与
することは従来より行われているが、カード使用の経歴
に応じて特典を差別化するようには構成されていない。
したがって本発明は、カード使用による特定客を認定
した場合に、その客によるカードの過去の使用状況、す
なわち、使用回数に照らして物品の販売或いは貸与を決
定する装置を提供するものである。
（ニ） 問題点を解決するための手段
実施例をブロックにて示す第１図により本発明の構成
を説明する。貨幣投入装置に紙幣或いは硬貨が投入され
て、紙幣識別装置（１）や硬貨選別装置（２）が投入紙
幣若しくは投入硬貨の適正を判別しその額に応じて投入
貨幣信号を出力すると、投入金額演算装置（３）は該信
号を加算計数する。制御装置（５）は投入金額演算装置
（３）にて演算の投入金額と価格設定装置（６）に設定
されている各種物品毎の提供価格とを比較して、提供可
能な物品の種類を判別する。このときカード投入装置
（4A）にカードが投入されていると、カード処理装置
（４）は投入カードが予め定められている特定のカード
であるかを判別し、特定カードの場合にそこに記録され
ているカードの経歴情報を読取って制御装置（５）に出
力する。カードの経歴情報とは、例えばそのカードが物
品を提供するために使用された回数を示しており、制御
装置（５）は経歴情報にしたがって価格設定装置（６）
に設定されている各提供価格に対し割引きを行なって、
各物品の割引後の提供価格を表示装置（７）に表示す
る。したがってカードを投入した客は表示装置（７）に
表示されている価格に応じて貨幣を投入すればよい。そ
して制御装置（５）はカードが投入されている場合に
は、投入金額演算装置（３）にて演算の投入金額と割引
後の提供価格とを比較して、提供可能な物品の種類を判
別する。選択部（８）は物品の種類毎に選択スイッチを
有しており、物品送出装置（９）は制御装置（５）にて
提供可能と判定された物品に対応する選択スイッチが操
作されるとこの物品の送出動作を行なう。物品送出後、
物品送出装置（９）は送出終了信号を出力し、カード処
理装置（４）は該信号により経歴情報を書き換えて、カ
ード投入装置（4A）からカードを投入者に返却する。す
なわちカード処理装置（４）はそのカードの使用回数に
１回分を加える。
（ホ） 作用
カードを投入した特定の顧客に対しては割引き価格で
物品を提供できる。そしてカードは使用されるたびに経
歴が書き加えられるために使用回数に応じた割引きを行
うことができる。
（ヘ） 実施例
本発明を録画済みのビデオカセットを提供する装置を
例にあげて詳述する。ビデオカセットの貸出について考
えると、録画されている内容が例えば最新の映画や音楽
シーンの場合に貸与は不適当で販売が好ましい。したが
って本例におけるビデオカセット提供装置は販売機能と
貸与機能の２通りを備えており、以下、ビデオカセット
の提供に関して販売と貸与の両方で説明する。
第２図において、顧客は硬貨投入口（11）や紙幣挿入
口（12）に貨幣を入れ、例えばCRTディスプレイによる
表示装置（15）で投入金額及び品切れのビデオカセット
を確認する。そしてカセット展示棚（14）及び表示パネ
ル（13）でカセットタイトルや各カセット毎の販売価格
或いは貸与価格を見て、希望のビデオカセットを選択ス
イッチ（S1）…（Sn）の操作にて選択する。ここで貸与
価格とは、貸出料とカセットの返却時に払戻す保証金額
との合計金額である。また顧客が特典カードをカード投
入口（36）に差込むことで販売或いは貸与に特典を受け
られる。この発明でいうカードとは、磁気カード・レー
ザーカード・ICカード等のように情報を記録し、且つ書
換えることが可能なカードである。ビデオカセット提供
装置（10）はカードが投入されると、そこに記録されて
いるカードの経歴情報（以下、経歴情報はカードの過去
の使用回数を指すものとする。）を読取り、カードの過
去の使用回数で決まる割引率によりビデオカセットのタ
イトル毎の販売価格或いは貸与価格を割引いて割引きさ
れた提供価格を表示装置（15）に表示する。したがって
カードを使用した顧客は割引価格に応じて貨幣を投入し
選別スイッチ（S1）…（Sn）を操作する。このように選
択スイッチ（S1）…（Sn）の操作にて選択されたビデオ
カセットは、カセット送出装置の駆動により取出口（1
6）に排出されるが、この排出と同時にレシートがレシ
ート発行口（17）より発行される。レシートには受領金
額・提供日時・カセットタイトルNo.・ビデオカセット
提供装置の登録番号等が記載されているのが好ましい。
またビデオカセットの側部には認識部が設けられてお
り、種々の認識情報がバーコードのような光学的な認識
マークで記録されるか、若しくは磁気テープ上に記録さ
れている。認識情報としては、ビデオカセットの識別情
報やカセットの返却時に払戻すべき保証金の金額情報が
ある。またビデオカセットは録画されている内容等に応
じて販売専用があるが、それが販売専用か否かを示す販
売情報も識別情報に加えられる。そして貸出期間が特に
定められている場合、ビデオカセットの提供時にはその
日時情報が認識情報の一つとして認識部に記録する必要
がある。このようにその都度情報を記録する場合には、
日時情報は磁気的に記録する方が簡便といえる。
客が提供されたカセットを返却するには、すなわち貸
与されたビデオカセットを返却して保証金を返還するに
は、カセットを返却受入部（18）に挿入する。物品提供
装置（10）は返却されたビデオカセットの認識部を検査
し、識別情報の有無によりこのカセットが適正なもので
あるかを判別する。そして販売専用のビデオカセットと
販売及び貸与の両方が可能なビデオカセットとを取扱う
装置においては、販売情報を検出することで何れのカセ
ット種類かを判別する。また貸出期間がある場合には、
日時情報を読取って期間内であるかを判別する。更に返
却されたビデオカセットの品質チェックは、例えばカセ
ットを高速再生し記録信号の再現性や機構上の変化等に
て行なう。その結果、返却されたビデオカセットが販売
専用以外で且つ貸出期間が守られており、そして品質上
に問題がないと、ビデオカセット提供装置（10）は保証
金の金額情報にしたがって硬貨を硬貨返却口（19）より
払出し、また紙幣であれば紙幣の返却も兼ねた紙幣挿入
口（12）より返金する。しかして返却されたビデオカセ
ットについてであるが最も効率の良い装置を考えると、
返却受入部（18）に返却されたビデオカセットが種々の
返却条件を満足した場合は、自動的にカセットの収納部
に移送して次の送出に供されるのが望ましいがこれには
極めて複雑な機構が必要となる。よって簡便な方法とし
て考えられるのが、返却受入部（18）に返却されたビデ
オカセットが返却条件を満足すると、客の手によってこ
のカセットが元のカセット展示棚（14）に戻されたとき
に保証金を払戻す構成がある。
第３図はビデオカセット提供装置（10）の構成を示す
もので、制御部（20）はCPU（21）や制御プログラムを
格納しているROM（22）及びRAM（23）を中心とする制御
ボードにて成る。硬貨選別処理装置（24）、紙幣識別処
理装置（25）、選択スイッチ（S1）…（Sn）を具備する
選択装置（26）、表示装置（15）、カセット送出装置
（27）、カセット取込装置（28）、レシートを発行する
ためのプリンタ（29）、カード処理装置（31）、及びビ
デオカセットの認識部に記録されている認識情報を読取
り且つ認識情報を記録可能な認識情報処理装置（30）の
それぞれがI/Oインターフェース（32）に接続されてお
り、I/Oインタフェース（32）はROM（22）やRAM（23）

制御部（20）の動作を第４図のフローチャートによっ
て説明する。制御部（20）は先ずS1ステップで返却受入
部（18）へのビデオカセットの投入をセンサー（35）に

セットされていないと提供価格には割引きがないため
に、制御部（20）はRAM（23）にストアしている販売価
格や貸与価格をそのまま提供価格としてCPU（21）の内
