BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a method for protecting a cycloconverter for driving a variable frequency load such as a synchronous motor when the phase of the cycloconverter cannot be controlled. [Technical Background of the Invention and Problems Thereof] FIG. 1 is a schematic configuration diagram showing a synchronous motor driving device, wherein 1 is a cyclo converter, 2 is an input transformer thereof, 3 is a synchronous motor, and 4 is a cyclo motor. -It is a converter control circuit. In such a device, normal phase control becomes impossible when the AC input power is reduced or lost (27S operation in the figure) or the thyristor is abnormally sending a firing pulse. I have. However, when the synchronous motor, which is the load, is in a low frequency state, a zero point of the output current is formed in the protection state of the gate block, and the time until the thyristor is turned off becomes longer, and the duty to energize the thyristor becomes severe. is there. [Object of the Invention] An object of the present invention is to provide a method for protecting a cycloconverter, which avoids a situation in which the energization duty of a thyristor is severe for the above-mentioned problem. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION In order to achieve this object, the present invention provides a cycloconverter device for driving a synchronous generator motor, which gates the cycloconverter when the AC input power of the device is lost or the thyristor loses the function of transmitting a firing pulse. The block is stopped, and a bypass switch provided in parallel with the synchronous motor is closed on condition that an output frequency of the cycloconverter is lower than a set frequency. [Embodiment of the Invention] An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to a schematic configuration diagram shown in FIG. In the figure, 11 is a bypass switch provided for an equivalent single-phase load,
12 is a synchronous power supply drop detector, 13 is a firing pulse abnormality detector,
14 is an output current or output voltage control circuit, 15 is a phase control circuit, and 16 is a firing pulse generator. In FIG. 2, when the AC input power is reduced or lost, the synchronous power supply drop detector 12 operates to protect the gate block and close the bypass switch 11. The current flowing from the load side to the cycloconverter can be bypassed. Therefore, it is possible to avoid a severe energizing duty for the thyristor. Similar protection is provided in the event of a loss of the firing pulse delivery function. FIG. 3 is a block diagram showing another embodiment of the present invention.
Is a first output frequency level detector, and similarly, 22 is a second output frequency level detector. In the configuration of FIG. 3, for example, when the AC input power is lost, the output of the cycloconverter becomes zero voltage in the gate block state. Therefore, the current flowing through the thyristor depends on the output frequency of the synchronous motor 3, which is a load, at which point the current zero point is formed.
In 1 ), the current duty is not severe. In such a region, side-path protection is not required, and only gate-block protection is sufficient. Therefore, the above-mentioned protection is achieved by outputting the frequency level detector 21 in a state where the set frequency is 1 or less. When the firing pulse transmission function is lost, an AC (input) power frequency appears at the cycloconverter output due to the gate block protection operation, and the current flowing through the thyristor in relation to this voltage and the induced back electromotive voltage of the synchronous motor 3 is generated. Zero formation is determined. Therefore, by the output voltage of the cycloconverter, it is possible to perform the same protection by the bypass switch at the set frequency 2 or less at which the current duty becomes severe. By adopting the configuration of the present embodiment, the protection by closing the bypass switch accompanying the gate block protection operation such as the loss of the AC input power supply is limited, and the effect that the short-circuit probability of the AC input viewed from the synchronous motor can be reduced is produced. . [Effects of the Invention] As described above, in the cycloconverter device having a variable frequency load such as a synchronous motor as described above, the thyristor of the device is severe when the gate block protection operation is performed due to the loss of AC input power or the like. It is possible to avoid the energization duty state.
