加工工場では酸を加えてテレフタル酸を析出、分離し埋
立や焼却している。PETボトルやフィルムなどのポリ
エステル樹脂廃棄物についての再資源化の技術はいくつ
かみられるが(例えば、特開平03−56446号参
照)、この減量加工排液中のテレフタル酸の有効な利用
方法はいまだみられない。2. の手順を述べると、まず、減量加工排液中の不溶物を除
いた後、塩酸を加えて水素イオン濃度指数(pH)を7
〜12に調整する。次に塩化カルシウムの水溶液を添加
し、テレフタル酸をカルシウム塩として析出させる。こ
れをろ過し乾燥する。このテレフタル酸のカルシウム塩
を粉体のまま、又は塊状に成形したものを加熱炭化す
