2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, in the connection work of an optical fiber cable, an optical fiber is exposed from a terminal of the optical fiber cable in a state of a single core or a tape having a sufficient extra length, and the corresponding optical fibers are fused together. After the connection and the fusion spliced portion are protected by a reinforcing material, the extra length and the spliced portion are accommodated in a connection box for connection.

In the case where the extra length of the optical fiber and the connection portion are housed in the connection box, if the optical fiber is bent with a diameter smaller than the minimum bending radius, the optical transmission loss increases. It is necessary to accommodate the optical fiber with a radius as large as possible, and it is necessary to fix the optical fiber connecting portion in such a manner that the optical fiber connecting portion is not adversely affected by an increase in transmission loss and the optical fiber is not overloaded. However,
If the gripping force of the optical fiber connection part is too weak to move easily, the optical fiber may bend slightly near the root of the connection part, or a twisting or tensile force may be applied to the optical fiber. In addition, there is a possibility that transmission loss increases.

However, at present, with the increase in the number of optical fiber cables, the importance of an optical fiber cable using a tape core obtained by arranging a plurality of optical fibers into a tape is increasing. The tape cores are connected collectively, and the diameter of the reinforcing material for protecting the optical fiber connection portion is larger than that of the single core, and cannot be fixed by the conventional single core holder. Therefore, it is necessary to make a molded product of a new size, and there is a drawback that a single-core type and a tape type must be used properly. Further, from a structural point of view, the number of connecting portions does not always match the number at which the holder can fix the connecting portions, so that unused portions are wasted as they are, which is uneconomical in terms of cost.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks of the prior art, to be able to securely fix the optical fiber connection portion without adverse effects such as transmission loss, and to be able to cope with various sizes of reinforcing members. It is another object of the present invention to provide a fixing device for an optical fiber connecting portion in which the number of connecting portions to be fixed can be arbitrarily determined.

The optical fiber connecting portion 5 is gripped by the holder 7 by being sandwiched between the holding portions between the holder members 6 and 6 as shown in FIG. In this case, as shown in FIG. 2B, the tongue piece 9 of one holder member 6 is deformed (expanded), and the elastic force of the tongue piece 9 when the tongue piece 9 is expanded causes the optical fiber connection part 5 to be deformed. It is pressed against the other holder and is held by the holder 7 with a predetermined holding force.

A vibration test on the optical fiber cable connection box 3 using the above-described fixing device was performed in the x, y, and z directions in FIG. 3 in parallel with tray 4). Here, the test in the x and y directions is performed by a vertical vibration tester 13 shown in FIG. 6A, and the test in the z direction is shown in FIG.
As shown in (b), the test was performed using the fixture 14 in combination with the vibration tester 13. Conditions are amplitude ± 5mm, frequency 10Hz, 100
The test was performed in each case where the connection portion of the single-core optical fiber and the connection portion of the tape optical fiber were fixed. After the test, the connection box 3 is disassembled, and the reinforcing material of the optical fiber connection portion 5 is removed.
When the extra length of the optical fiber was examined, there was no problem. Thereafter, transmission loss was examined using a light source and a power meter, but no increase in transmission loss was observed as compared with the measurement result before the test.
