Description of the Related Art In order to cool a fluid flowing in a pipe having a circular cross section, cooling fins having a constant pitch are usually fixed to the outer peripheral surface of the pipe. The fixing is usually performed by brazing a cooling fin to the outer peripheral surface of the tube. In order to increase the cooling efficiency, it is desirable that there is no gap between the portion where the cooling fin is attached to the outer peripheral surface of the tube and the outer peripheral surface of the tube.

This is a method of removing a coil-shaped cooling fin later from the mandrel.

Although this does not occur, the cooling efficiency of the cooling fins decreases. When a thin and wide strip is used to increase the cooling efficiency of the cooling fins, when the strip is wound around the mandrel, the width of the strip near the mandrel is compressed and the width of the strip far from the mandrel is reduced. As shown in FIG. 7, wrinkles and breaks occur in a portion of the strip wound around the mandrel in the width direction near the mandrel.

This causes a decrease in cooling efficiency. In addition, the flow of the air flowing between the cooling fins is deteriorated, and the cooling efficiency is reduced. Furthermore, extra band material is required.

In some cases, it is required to further increase the cooling efficiency of the cooling fins. In such a case, it is desirable to manufacture the cooling fin from an L-shaped member having an L-shaped cross section, but a method of manufacturing the cooling fin from the L-shaped material is not known.

る。According to the present invention, there is provided a method of manufacturing a continuous coil-shaped cooling fin having a constant pitch by winding an L-shaped member around an outer peripheral surface of a round mandrel, comprising the steps of: The L-shaped material is supplied to the mandrel at a constant supply angle through an L-shaped guide hole extending adjacent to the outer peripheral surface of the mandrel beyond the point where the material comes into contact with the mandrel, and the L-shaped short side of the L-shaped material is provided. Wrapping the portion around the outer periphery of the mandrel, spaced from the L-shaped long side of the guide hole by at least the length of the L-shaped short side of the L-shaped member, and adjacent to the outer surface of the mandrel and at least the outer periphery of the mandrel The L-shaped long side portion of the L-shaped member wound around the mandrel is guided along a guide surface extending over a quarter of a circumference and intersecting the axis of the mandrel at an angle substantially equal to the supply angle. A method is provided.

It becomes difficult to wind around. The length of the portion where the L-shaped guide hole extends adjacent to the outer peripheral surface of the mandrel beyond the point where the L-shaped member contacts the mandrel is at least 1/12 to 1/4 of the outer periphery of the mandrel. However, the present invention is not limited to this.

The angle must be such that the L-shaped short side of the L-shaped member does not overlap with the L-shaped short side of the L-shaped material already wound on the mandrel. The supply angle is preferably substantially equal to the pitch angle of the manufactured coil-shaped cooling fins.

If the guide surface does not extend at least 1/4 of the outer circumference along the outer peripheral surface of the mandrel,
It becomes difficult to shape the L-shaped members into cooling fins having a constant pitch. Even if the guide surface extends one or more rounds of the outer circumference along the outer peripheral surface of the mandrel, machining of the guide surface becomes difficult, and it is remarkable in shaping the L-shaped material into cooling fins having a constant pitch. No significant effect occurs. The guide surface intersects a plane perpendicular to the axis of the mandrel at an angle approximately equal to the feed angle. There is no need to leave a distance between the exit end of the L-shaped guide hole and the portion of the guide surface where the L-shaped long side of the L-shaped member starts to contact, and the distance is not less than 3 of the outer circumference of the mandrel. May be opened.

隔を調整できることが好ましい。If the gap between the L-shaped short sides of the L-shaped guide hole is too small, the angle formed by the L-shaped long side and the L-shaped short side of the L-shaped member wound around the mandrel becomes acute. If the gap between the L-shaped short sides of the guide hole is too wide, the angle between the L-shaped long side and the L-shaped short side of the L-shaped member wound around the mandrel becomes obtuse. Therefore, it is preferable that the gap between the L-shaped short side portions of the guide holes can be adjusted so that the angle formed by the L-shaped long side portion and the L-shaped short side portion of the L-shaped member wound around the mandrel is substantially a right angle.

Such cooling fins are in the form of a continuous coil having a fixed pitch, and the fins are separated from adjacent fins by a fixed pitch. Insert the cooling fin into the tube and secure the cooling fin to the tube. The fixing can be performed in a conventional manner, for example by brazing. When it is desired to change the pitch between the fins, the pitch can be easily changed by applying a force to both ends of the cooling fin.

材を使用することもできる。As the material of the L-shaped member to be used, a metal material such as steel, iron, aluminum and copper is suitable. The width and thickness of the long and short sides of the L-shaped member depend on the required cooling efficiency. The cross section of the L-shaped long side portion and the L-shaped short side portion of the L-shaped member can be an arbitrary quadrangular cross section, but is preferably a rectangle. L-shaped members with chamfered edges can also be used.

The L-shaped short side portion of the L-shaped member is wound around the outer peripheral surface of the mandrel while substantially maintaining the original L-shape, and the L-shaped long side portion of the L-shaped member is guided along an appropriate guide surface to maintain a constant shape.
