However, in the method of joining strip-shaped metal plates shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, there is a problem that the joining portion has a step, so that it cannot be smoothly contacted with a pass roller or the like, or that the sheet passes through a coating device in a photosensitive layer coating step. There is a problem that the application device must be retracted so that the time step does not contact the application device.

In order to solve this problem, there has been proposed a joining method in which strip-shaped metal plates are welded to each other, and the joint is rolled to remove a step. In this method, as shown in FIG. 5, after superposing a small amount of the band-shaped metal plates 70 and 72 on the back bar 80,
The shield gas 84 is blown to the upper and lower surfaces of the minutely overlapped portion, and the shielded gas 84 is used to perform arc welding of the minutely overlapped portion while preventing the electrode 86 and the joint 88 of the welding torch 85 from being oxidized. The part 88 is rolled to remove a step at the joint part 88. In this case, the shielding gas is blown out from the welding torch on the upper surface of the minute overlapping portion,

However, since it is difficult to uniformly blow out the shielding gas 84 from the holes 90, 90... Of the back bar 80, the blowing pressure of the shielding gas varies, and when the thin plate is melted up to the back surface (back wave welding), a location where the blowing pressure is strong. There is a problem that perforations occur. In FIG. 5, reference numeral 91 denotes a clamp.

In order to solve this problem, the applicant of the present invention has proposed a joining method of a strip-shaped metal plate in which the strip-shaped metal plates are joined to each other by back-wave welding without blowing out a shielding gas from the holes 90 of the back bar. I have. (Japanese Patent Application No. 63-304379) The arc generated on the electrode 86 is about
Since 0.1 seconds to several seconds are necessary, if the strip-shaped metal plates are welded and joined immediately after the arc is generated, the strip-shaped metal plates are welded and joined with an arc larger or smaller than a set value. Therefore, there is a problem that melting may occur at the welding start end, poor melting, or unmelting may occur.

In order to solve this problem, the present applicant separates the electrodes from the strip-shaped metal plate to generate an arc, and the arc is generated from the time when the arc is generated.
Japanese Patent Application No. 1-20534 proposes a joining method of a band-shaped metal plate in which a joining portion of the band-shaped metal plate is welded after a lapse of at least two seconds.

In addition, as shown in FIG.
Moves in the direction of arrow A and reaches the strip-shaped metal plates 70 and 72, the arc length sharply decreases from L to L '.
If the tip of the electrode 86 is sharply formed, the arc becomes unstable. For this reason, it is not possible to sufficiently reverse weld the strip-shaped metal plates 70 and 72 to each other, causing poor fusion at the welded joint at the welding start end, or causing the welded joint to melt down due to excessive arc heat and cause a hole. There is a problem that air gap occurs. Also, since the arc length increases sharply from L 'to L even at the welding end, there is a problem similar to that at the welding start.

When welding the end portions of the strip-shaped metal plates 10 and 22 with the welding device 24, first, a very small amount of the front end portion 10A of the strip-shaped metal plate 10 and the rear end portion 22A of the strip-shaped metal plate 22 are attached to the back bar 44. Overlap and fix the tips 10A and 22A with clamps (not shown). Next, a high-frequency pulse arc is generated from the electrode 30A of the welding torch 30, and compressed air is supplied to the supply pipe 38 to generate a suction force on the suction nozzle 32.
The compressed air is also supplied to 42 and the compressed air is blown out from the blowing nozzle 34. In this state, when the traveling unit 36 is moved in the right direction (the direction of arrow A) in FIG. 2, the blowing nozzle 34, the suction nozzle 32, and the welding torch 30 in the order of the end portions 10 of the strip-shaped metal plates 10, 22.
As it moves along the small-amount overlapping portion of A and 22A, foreign matter such as dust stuck to the minute-amount overlapping portion of the end portions 10A and 22A is lifted by compressed air blown out from a blowing nozzle as needed. The arc welding can be performed after the foreign matter left in the overlapping portion is sucked or blown off by the suction nozzle.

As described above, since the welding torch 30, the suction nozzle 32, and the blowing nozzle 34 are integrated, foreign matter can be removed immediately before welding and joining. Therefore, the probability that foreign matter accumulates in the minutely overlapped portions of the strip-shaped metal plates 10 and 22 is reduced, so that holes are not generated in the minutely overlapped portions during arc welding. Further, harmful substances such as fumes generated by welding can be removed.

A rolling device 48 is provided at a stage subsequent to the welding device 24, and a rolling roller 50 of the rolling device 48 performs rolling of a welded joint between the end portions 10A and 22A of the strip-shaped metal plates. By such a rolling process,
The step generated at the weld joint is pressed and compressed. This rolling process increases the bonding strength. This is because the tensile strength reduced by welding is work-hardened and recovered by the rolling process, and at the same time, it can be processed into a shape that does not easily cause stress concentration.

In the above embodiment, the band-shaped metal plate 10 and the band-shaped metal plate 22 are overlapped by a small amount, but they may be butt-welded. Although high-frequency pulse arc welding is used, joining may be performed by TIG arc welding. Further, although the suction nozzle is of an ejector type using compressed air, a vacuum pump or a suction blower may be used. The apparatus according to the present invention can also be used as a continuous welding apparatus such as a pipe making line.
