【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は光磁気デイスク装置に係り、特に安定に記録
あるいは消去を行なうことのできる外部磁場印加方式に

磁場の極性が適正か否かをチエツクし、記録あるいは消
去動作を実行するか否かを判断することによって達成さ
れる。この場合磁場の極性のみを検出すれば目的は達成
される。検出する手段としては例えばホール素子等が好

号は極性判定回路5に入る。ここで、検出された磁場極
性が適正であると判断された場合、コントローラ2はレ
ーザ駆動回路6に信号を送り、記録および消去に対応し
た所定の出力およびパルス幅でレーザ701を発光させ
る。磁場極性が適正でない場合、コントローラ2はレー
ザ駆動回路6に信号を送らず、レーザ701は記録および
消去に対応した発光動作は行なわない。この時コントロ
ーラ2は、外部磁場印加手段3に対して再度磁場極性反
転動作を指令し、磁場極性を適性な極性としてからレー

場の極性を検出する外部磁場極性検出手段と、該検出さ
れた磁場の極性が適正であるかどうか判断する極性判定
回路を有し、上記極性判定回路が磁場の極性が適正と判
断したときのみ上記光ヘッドにレーザの照射を指令する
コントローラを有することを特徴とする光磁気ディスク
