2. Description of the Related Art A storage battery used as a power source for a battery tool, for example, a cordless driver or the like, is apt to be subjected to overcharge or heavy load work (work to tighten a thick screw, etc.) which occurs when a charge stop device of a charger is abnormal. When overdischarge is performed, the hydrogen gas generated inside the storage battery cannot be completely consumed. As a result, the internal pressure of the storage battery rises, and a valve in the storage battery provided as a safety device opens to generate hydrogen gas.

In the conventional battery tool, the battery holding portion is not separated from the ignition source such as a motor or a switch, and when the storage battery is mounted on the battery holding portion, the inside of the battery tool is substantially sealed. Therefore, there has been a problem that hydrogen gas accumulates around an ignition source such as a terminal plate, a motor, or a switch connecting the storage battery and the switch in the storage battery holding unit, and there is a risk of explosion due to a spark generated from the ignition source. An object of the present invention is to increase the safety of a battery tool by preventing hydrogen gas from accumulating around an ignition source such as a motor and a switch.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The object of the present invention is to provide a partition wall for separating a storage battery in a storage battery holder from an ignition source such as a motor or a switch, and to provide the partition above the storage battery holder in an outer frame , and to provide the outside of the outer frame and the inside of the storage battery holder. This is achieved by providing a gas vent hole for communicating the gas.

The battery tool configured as described above discharges hydrogen gas generated and leaked at the time of overdischarge, for example, from the gas vent hole provided above the storage battery holding portion of the outer frame to the outside of the outer frame. Therefore, even if the seal by the partition is insufficient, it is less likely to enter around the ignition source such as a motor or a switch through the partition, and as a result, hydrogen gas does not accumulate and the possibility of explosion is reduced.

1 to 3 show an embodiment of the present invention. FIG.
Shows a schematic configuration of a battery tool. A motor 2 is housed in an outer frame 1 composed of a split housing, and the power of the motor 2 is transmitted to a chuck 4 via a speed reduction mechanism 5, and a tip of a drive bit or a drill (not shown) gripped by the chuck 4. The tool is driven to rotate. A switch 3 is also housed in the outer frame 1, and a storage battery 12 is detachably held in a storage battery holding portion below the switch 3. The storage battery 12 and the switch 3 are connected via a terminal plate 6 and a lead wire. As shown in FIG. 3, two gas vent holes 8 are formed in the battery holding portion by using a joint portion of a split housing.
The vent hole 8 is provided above the battery holding portion of the outer frame 1 . Reference numeral 9 denotes a partition separating the ignition source such as the motor 2 and the switch 3 from the storage battery holder. The storage battery 12 includes a plurality of batteries 1 connected in series.

Next, the operation will be described. When the battery 11 is overcharged or overdischarged, the internal pressure increases, a valve (not shown) in the battery 11 provided as a safety device opens, and hydrogen gas flows out of the gap of the battery case 10 as shown in FIG.
When hydrogen gas is generated in a state where the storage battery 12 is mounted on the battery tool, the hydrogen gas rises.
It cannot enter the ignition source such as the switch 3 and escapes from the gas vent hole 8 provided above the battery holding portion of the outer frame 1. As described above, the gas vent hole 8 is provided above the battery holding portion of the outer frame 1, and the hydrogen gas leaking from the storage battery 12 can reliably escape from the gas vent hole 8. Is insufficient, it is less likely that hydrogen gas will enter the motor 2, the switch 3, etc. through the partition 9. Therefore, hydrogen gas does not accumulate around the ignition source, and the possibility of explosion is reduced.

As described above, according to the present invention, for example, hydrogen gas generated at the time of overdischarge and leaking is discharged to the outside of the outer frame from the gas vent hole provided above the storage battery holding portion of the outer frame. Therefore, even if the seal by the partition is insufficient, hydrogen gas is less likely to enter and accumulate around the ignition source, such as a motor or a switch, through the partition, and the possibility of explosion is reduced.
