このタンク本体1の上部空間の両側部に燃料遮断弁装置
2を配設してある。この燃料遮断弁装置2は、ベーパ流
入孔4,ドレーン孔5を形成したバルブケーシング3と、
バルブケーシング3内に収容されて、該バルブケーシン
グ3内に燃料が流入すると浮動して通路を遮断するフロ
ートバルブ6とを備えている。そして、これら燃料遮断
弁装置2,2は、タンク本体1外で、該タンク本体1の略
中央位置においてベーパパイプ7に集合,接続してあ
る。この従来の構造によれば、タンク本体1がどちらか
に傾斜した場合にあっても、第4図に示すように何れか
一方の燃料遮断弁装置2が燃料液面上方に存して、発生
ベーパをベーパパイプ7に導出させ、図外のキャニスタ
で処理させることができる。この類似構造は、例えば実
開昭61−139368号公報に示されている。

時液面から該合流点までの配管長を増大することも考え
られるが、これでは配管レイアウトが難しくなるばかり
でなく、コスト的にも不利になってしまうという新たな
問題を生じる。そこで、本発明は簡単な構成により燃料
の外部流出を確実に防止することができる燃料タンクの
燃料遮断弁配設構造を提供するものである。

に偏寄った場合でも、上壁の膨出成形した部分には空気
溜り室が常に形成され、フロートバルブ全体が液中に没
してシール部分より燃料が洩れ出すことがなくなり、燃
料の外部流出防止を徹底することができるという実用上
多大な効果を有する。
