Description of the Related Art In a solid-state image sensor such as a CCD, when strong light is incident on a semiconductor element around a light receiving element, carriers generated by a photoelectric effect flow into the light receiving element to cause shading or significantly deteriorate image quality. Similarly, in a liquid crystal television, when light enters a semiconductor element that performs a switching action, the switching operation becomes uncertain and the image quality is significantly deteriorated. In order to prevent such adverse effects, in both the solid-state image sensor and the liquid crystal TV, the color filter has a light-shielding portion for obtaining an optical black reference level (transmittance of 0.001% or less over the wavelength range of 400 nm to 700 nm). It is provided.

(第1図d)。Conventionally, as a method of providing a light shielding portion, there is a chrome light shielding method, which is shown in FIGS. Chromium 7 is vapor-deposited on the substrate 6, a resist is applied and dried, and then ultraviolet rays are radiated through a mask having a predetermined pattern to selectively expose it. After that, the chromium in the unnecessary portion is removed by etching, and the substrate having the light shielding portion 8 (FIG. 1b) is prepared. Then, the dyeing resin is applied, dried, exposed, developed and dyed repeatedly to complete a color filter having a light-shielding portion (FIG. 1c). There is also a method in which this method is performed after the color filter is formed (FIG. 1d).

The dyeable resin 12 is applied (FIG. 3b), and the pattern is exposed to ultraviolet rays through a mask having a predetermined pattern to selectively expose and develop the pattern, and the pattern is formed on the boundary of each color of the filter layers 9, 10 and 11. Leave it in part (13 in Fig. 3c). Then, that portion is dyed with a black dye to complete a color filter having a light-shielding portion 14 (Fig. 3d).

For example, the chrome light shielding method or the dyeing method requires a long manufacturing process. Therefore, when a color filter having a light shielding portion is directly formed on a solid-state image sensor or a color filter having a light shielding portion on a switching array of a liquid crystal display. When directly forming, it becomes a cause of reduction in yield. Furthermore, it is difficult for the dyeing method to satisfy the optical black reference level.
Even in the superposing method, it is difficult to satisfy the optical black reference level with two colors, for example (red-blue, red-green, blue-green), as in the case of the dyeing method.

Then, using 1-naphthol instead of benzoinacetanilide, the above-described operation was performed, and as shown in FIG.
The cyan coloring area 3 is obtained. Then 1-naphthol 1
The same operation is performed in place of phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone to obtain a magenta coloring region 4 as shown in FIG. 1c. Superposed part 5 obtained in this way
The optical black reference level of is less than 0.0005%.
