と冷却用気流との流れ方向が直角である、いわゆる『ク
ロスフロー方式』のものとがあるが、下部に冷水槽を有
する点では両者は共通している。そこで、本考案の理解
を容易ならしめるために、冷却塔設備における冷水槽の
役割をクロスフロー方式の冷却塔を例にとって図2に基
づいて説明する。同図において、通風空間11の両側に
充填材12、12が設置され、通風空間11の上方には
冷却ファン13が取り付けられ、各充填材12の上方に
は温水槽14が設けられ、温水槽14には温水供給管1
5から散水箱16を介して温水が供給されている。各温

ルト研磨、バフ研磨等を施して粗面部分21を散点状に
形成し、この部分にプライマーを塗布し、この上からウ
レタンエラストマーを吹付けてウレタン層を形成する方
法が一般的に行われている。ところで、この冷水槽は耐
錆性を考慮してFRP製のものが多く、また、その実際
の大きさは、小さいものでも、3.5m(縦)×6m
(横)×0.9m(高さ)の寸法で、大きいものでは、
15m(縦)×10m(横)×0.9m(高さ)に達す
るものもある。従って、冷水槽を一体成形するのは困難
で、図4に示すように、複数部分20a、20b、20
c、20d等から構成されている。しかし、ウレタンエ
ラストマーの吹付けは、いわゆるピンホール欠陥を伴う
ことが多く、従来は水槽に水を満たした水張り試験でピ
ンホール欠陥に伴う水漏れがないかどうかをチェックし

ら水漏れの発生が確認された場合、水抜きを行った後に
