Abstract
Description
表1に記載の第1金属からなる金属板(シート状、厚み0.5~3mm)と、第2金属からなる金属板(シート状、厚み0.5~3mm)とを用意し、金属ロールプレス加工により、それぞれ表1に示す厚みの箔状に圧延した。次に、2枚の金属箔をそれぞれ所定の大きさに裁断した後、これらを重ね合わせ、各箔の対向していない側の面に、それぞれプラスチックフィルム(PP)を配置した。なお、プラスチックフィルムは、金属箔のすべて(端部も含む)を覆うような大きさとした。次に、この積層体を、最高400℃程度の高温で加熱して、プラスチックを溶融させ、さらに圧着することにより、第1金属層と第2金属層とを有するフィルムを得た。なお、第1金属および第2金属の性状(融点、線膨張係数)は、表1の通りである。また、線膨張係数の差は、(第2金属の線膨張係数)-(第1金属の線膨張係数)で求めた。また、比較例1は、PPフィルムのみを用いた。
試作した二次電池を放電状態として、両側の長側面から、断熱材や弾性体を介して厚み3cmのアルミニウム製の金属ブロックで挟み込み、0.1~1MPaで定圧拘束した。なお、金属ブロックの中央(二次電池の長側面の重心(中央)の位置)には、釘を挿通可能なΦ数mmの穴があいている。この穴は、釘径に対して、+1~2mm程度の穴径である。例えば、釘径が3mmの場合であれば、穴径は、3.1~3.2mm程度の大きさである。次に、金属ブロックで挟み込んだ二次電池を満充電(SOC100%)まで充電した。そして、以下の手順で釘刺し試験を行った。
・ランク0:噴出物は、ガス排出弁からのみであり、電池ケースに変化なし
・ランク1:噴出物は、ガス排出弁とその周辺の開裂からあり、それ以外の電池ケースに変化なし
・ランク2:噴出物は、ガス排出弁とその周辺、及び、他3か所以内の開裂からあり、両端子部には開裂なし
・ランク3:噴出物は、ガス排出弁とその周辺、及び、他4~9か所の開裂からあり、両端子部には開裂なし
・ランク4:噴出物は、ガス排出弁とその周辺、及び、他10か所以上の開裂からあり、開裂は、両方の端子部にもあり
・ランク5:噴出物は、ガス排出弁とその周辺、及び、他10か所以上の開裂からあり、開裂は、両方の端子部にもあり、さらに端子部の面が電池ケースより分離
項1:電池ケースと、上記電池ケースに収容される電極体と、上記電池ケースと上記電極体との間に配置される絶縁フィルムと、を備える二次電池であって、上記絶縁フィルムは、第1金属からなる第1金属層と、上記第1金属層よりも上記電池ケース側に配置され、かつ上記第1金属よりも線膨張係数が大きい第2金属からなる第2金属層と、を含み、少なくとも上記電池ケースと対向する面および上記電極体と対向する面が絶縁材料で覆われている、二次電池。
項2:上記電池ケースは、金属製であり、上記第1金属の融点が、上記電池ケースを構成する金属の融点よりも高い、項1に記載の二次電池。
項3:上記第1金属の融点が、1250℃以上である、項1または2に記載の二次電池。
項4:上記第1金属の融点が、1400℃以上である、項1から3のいずれか1つに記載の二次電池。
項5:上記第1金属と上記第2金属との線膨張率の差が、5/K以上である、項1から4のいずれか1つに記載の二次電池。
項6:上記第1金属層の厚みが、0.05mm以上1.5mm以下である、項1から5のいずれか1つに記載の二次電池。
項7:上記第2金属層の厚みが、0.05mm以上1.5mm以下である、項1から6のいずれか1つに記載の二次電池。
項8:上記電池ケースは、ガス排出弁を有し、上記絶縁フィルムは、上記ガス排出弁と対向する位置に貫通孔を有する、項1から7のいずれか1つに記載の二次電池。
項9:上記電池ケースは、底面と側面と開口とを有するケース本体と、上記開口を封口する封口板とを備え、上記ガス排出弁は、上記底面に設けられている、項8に記載の二次電池。
項10:上記底面と上記電極体との間に配置され、上記電極体と対向する側の面が凹凸形状である間隙形成部をさらに備える、項9に記載の二次電池。
