Abstract

Description

This invention relates to an assessment work support device, a control method thereof, and a program.

Care managers create care plans (plans for the provision of nursing care services, etc.) and coordinate with municipalities, service providers, facilities, etc. so that people requiring nursing care (those who require assistance) can receive appropriate nursing care services (home care, day care, etc.) based on their consultations and physical and mental conditions. The work of a care manager is generally incorporated into the following steps (1) to (6).

(1) Assessment: Understanding the situation of the person requiring care, collecting information on obstacles and requests in daily life, analyzing the background and causes of the decline in mental and physical functions, and understanding the life issues (needs) that need to be resolved and the possibilities.
(2) Preparation of a draft care plan A draft care plan is prepared, including setting a comprehensive assistance policy, goals (time frame, etc.), and the types and frequency of services required to achieve the goals.
(3) Service provider meetings, etc. The draft care plan is reviewed and adjusted from a professional perspective, including the service provider. In addition, a shared understanding is shared among multiple professions, and the care plan is decided after explanation and consent from the person requiring care.
(4) Provision of nursing care services In accordance with the determined care plan, specific nursing care services such as assistance with eating and bathing will be provided to the person in need of nursing care by the service provider.
(5) Benefit management Nursing care benefit expenses incurred through the use of nursing care insurance services will be managed.
(6) Monitoring (reassessment)
The system checks whether the care services provided enable the person in need of care to live an independent life and whether they are able to achieve short-term goals.

After completing the above (6) monitoring (reassessment), if the short-term goals have been achieved, new short-term goals are set and a new care plan is created to achieve the new short-term goals. If the short-term goals have not been achieved, an investigation is conducted to determine whether the short-term goals are appropriate for the current situation and whether there are any problems, and a decision is made to continue or change the care plan. In (1) assessment or (6) monitoring, care managers generally visit the home or other location of the person requiring care, meet with the person and his/her family, listen to what they have to say, and collect information necessary to create or change a care plan. Patent Document 1 provides a care support system and a care support program that allows all organizations or people related to care, such as regional comprehensive support centers, care providers, and families of those receiving care, to share care information and to support appropriate care services based on this shared care information. Each of the multiple support content items is associated with multiple assessment items, and the same or similar assessment items may be common to multiple support content items. In the topic grouping database, among the multiple assessment items stored in the basic care database, multiple assessment items that share a common topic are grouped by topic.

According to this invention, when multiple assessment items associated with each selected support content item (generally about three to five items) include multiple assessment items with a common topic, these are displayed together (as a group, for example arranged vertically) based on the above-mentioned topic grouping database. For example, when multiple assessment items associated with each selected support content item include multiple assessment items that ask the care recipient about their "fluid intake status," such multiple assessment items are displayed together. The assessment work support device is a computer system equipped with a central processing unit (CPU) 1 that controls its overall operation. The storage device 5 stores multiple databases (DBs) used for processing in the assessment work support device, here a basic care database 10, a database of elderly people requiring care 20, and a topic grouping database 30. Details of these databases 10 to 30 will be described later.

The assessment work support device can also be configured as a server/client type system. As described above, each of the multiple support content items in the basic care database 10 (data file 21 of the database of elderly people requiring care 20) is associated with multiple main assessment items. The topic grouping database 30 stores "topic (category) names" and "main assessment items."

When the care manager starts the assessment work support device (starts the program), a selection screen 51 (Figure 6) for "elderly person requiring care" and "expected support content" is displayed on the display device 4.

In the expected support content selection field 51B, 44 expected support contents are displayed for selection, also based on the DB 20 for elderly people requiring long-term care (the basic care DB 10 may also be used). If the extracted assessment items do not include multiple assessment items with a common topic stored in the topic grouping DB 30 (Figure 4) (NO in step 44), the extracted assessment items are listed and displayed on the display screen (step 46).

If the extracted assessment items include multiple assessment items that share a common topic stored in the topic grouping DB 30 (YES in step 44), they are grouped together and displayed on the display screen (step 45).

Figure 7 shows an example of a display screen (assessment support screen 52) when the extracted assessment items include multiple assessment items that share a common topic stored in the topic grouping DB 30.

If the extracted assessment items include multiple assessment items with a common topic stored in the topic grouping DB 30, a field 52A is provided on the assessment support screen 52 to display them as a group (close to each other). In other words, multiple main assessment items with a common topic are displayed as a group on the display screen of the display device referenced by the care manager during the assessment. This makes it possible to collect multiple pieces of information efficiently in a short amount of time, for example, when conducting interviews with people requiring care and their families.
