One embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to Figures 1 to 18.

<Outline of outdoor unit>
The external structure and the overall schematic internal structure of the outdoor unit according to this embodiment will be described with reference to Figs.

In these Figures 1 to 3, the outdoor unit 2 is installed outside a suitable building such as a house, and is connected to an indoor unit (not shown) installed indoors via piping (not shown). The outdoor unit 2 has a housing 31 formed in a generally box shape (in other words, a hollow rectangular parallelepiped). The housing 31 has an upper cover 31a located on the upper side of the generally box shape, a front panel 31b located on the front side of the generally box shape, a right side plate 31d located on one side in the left-right direction of the generally box shape (the right side in this example), a left side plate (not shown) located on the other side in the left-right direction of the generally box shape (the left side in this example), and a bottom plate 31f (see Figure 3) located on the lower side of the generally box shape.

A vertical partition wall 100 is provided inside the housing 31. As a result, inside the housing 31, the right side of the vertical partition wall 100 is partitioned as a machine room 36, and the left side of the vertical partition wall 100 is partitioned as a ventilation room 35. An electrical equipment mounting plate 200 is disposed above the vertical partition wall 100, and an electrical equipment (not shown) such as a capacitor can be attached to the lower part of the electrical equipment mounting plate 200.

The air blowing chamber 35 houses an air heat exchanger 8 (corresponding to a heat exchanger) that exchanges heat between the refrigerant and outside air, and an outdoor fan 10 (corresponding to a fan). The air heat exchanger 8 has a right end plate 8R (see FIG. 3) for attaching its right end to the housing 31, and a left end plate 8L (see FIG. 3) for attaching its left end to the housing 31. The air heat exchanger 8 in this example is a fin tube type heat exchanger of a panel body that can pass air in its thickness direction, and is arranged on the rear (back) side and left side side of the air blowing chamber 35 over almost the entire height of the air blowing chamber 35. The back of the air heat exchanger 8 also serves as the back part of the housing 31.

In this example, the outdoor fan 10 is an axial fan that has a rotating shaft 10b driven by a drive motor (not shown) and an impeller 10a fixed to the rotating shaft 10b, and blows air in a direction from the rear to the front of the outdoor unit 2 (from the upper right to the lower left in Figure 3).

The machine room 36 is a substantially closed space surrounded by the front panel 31b, the right side plate 31d, the bottom plate 31f, and the vertical partition wall 100. The machine room 36 contains a compressor 7 that compresses the refrigerant, a compressor terminal 7A to which wiring related to the drive of the compressor 7 is connected, a capillary tube 9 that functions as an expansion valve to reduce the pressure and expand the refrigerant, a discharge temperature sensor that detects the discharge temperature of the refrigerant discharged from the compressor 7, and a heat exchange sensor that detects the temperature of the refrigerant flowing between the air heat exchanger 8 and the expansion valve. In this example, the compressor 7 is located in the machine room 36 near the right side plate 31d, that is, closer to the right side plate 31d than the vertical partition wall 100, as shown in FIG. 6.

<Structure of electrical equipment mounting plate>
As shown in Figures 9, 10, and 11, the electrical equipment mounting plate 200 is composed of, along the vertical direction of the vertical wall portion 130 and the horizontal wall portion 140, a machine chamber side wall portion 211 which is the wall surface on the machine chamber 36 side, a blower chamber side wall portion 212 which is the wall surface on the blower chamber 35 side, a contact surface portion 213 where the vertical wall portion 130 and the horizontal wall portion 140 contact between the machine chamber side wall portion 211 and the blower chamber side wall portion 212, a mounting portion 214 extending from the machine chamber side wall portion 211 to the machine chamber 36 side, a groove portion 215 which is opened on the back surface of the contact surface portion 213 to allow water to fall, a water receiving hole portion 216 which drains water that falls from the groove portion 215 to the blower chamber 35 side, and a water receiving surface portion 217 which drains water that has accumulated on the upper surface of the mounting portion 214 into the groove portion 215.

The recess that opens downward between the machine room side wall 211, the blower chamber side wall 212, and the contact surface 213 and covers the first flange 131 is the first recess C1, and the recess that opens downward between the machine room side wall 211, the blower chamber side wall 212, and the contact surface 213 and covers the second flange 141 is the second recess C2.

<Engagement between electrical equipment mounting plate and vertical partition wall>
The engagement between the electrical equipment mounting plate 200 and the vertical partition wall 100 configured as described above will be described with reference to Figures 12 and 13. As shown in Figures 12 and 13 and Figures 9 and 10, the contact surface portion 213 of the first recess C1 (more specifically, the lower surface of the contact surface portion 213 on the vertical wall portion 130 side) abuts against the upper surface of the first flange portion 131 of the vertical partition wall 100. Moreover, the contact surface portion 213 of the second recess C2 (more specifically, the lower surface of the contact surface portion 213 on the horizontal wall portion 140 side) abuts against the upper surface of the second flange portion 141 of the vertical partition wall 100.

As a result, as shown in FIG. 14, the first recess C1 engages to cover the upper surface of the upper stage portion 130A, the lower stage portion 130B, and the first flange portion 131 as a whole, and the second recess C2 engages to cover the upper surface of the stepped portion 140A and the second flange portion 141 as a whole.

Effects of the embodiment
In this manner, in this embodiment, rain or other water that enters through the front panel 31b may be repelled by the outdoor fan 10 and splash onto the vertical partition wall 100 side, so as a first water ingress prevention structure, the vertical partition wall 100 and the blower chamber side wall portion 212 act as a wall to prevent water from ingress from the blower chamber 35 side to the machine chamber 36 side.

As a second water ingress prevention structure, the water receiving surface 217 prevents water that is repelled by the outdoor fan 10 and drips from the upper cover 31a from ingressing into the machinery room 36. At this time, the water that drips onto the water receiving surface 217 flows into the groove 215, and is then directed through the water receiving hole 216 to the blower chamber 35 side, thereby preventing water from ingressing from the blower chamber 35 side to the machinery room 36 side.

Therefore, in an outdoor unit that does not have a control box, the blower chamber side wall 212 prevents water from scattering due to the outdoor fan or wind, and water seeping in due to dripping from the upper cover 31a is drained from the water receiving surface 217 through the groove 215 and the water receiving hole 216 to the blower chamber 35 side, thereby reliably preventing water from seeping in the machine chamber 36.

<Third water ingress prevention structure for machine room side wall>
Next, the detailed structure of the third water-proof structure that protects the equipment in the machine room 36 from water that has seeped into the machine room 36 through the contact surface between the first recess C1 and the first flange portion 131, and the contact surface between the second recess C2 and the second flange portion 141 will be described with reference to Figure 15.

218 is a first inclined portion that inclines the lower edge of the machine room side wall portion 211 on the vertical wall portion 130 side toward the first specified direction X1, and 219 is a second inclined portion that inclines the lower edge of the machine room side wall portion 211 on the horizontal wall portion 140 side toward the second specified direction X2.

The water that has slipped around has the tendency to temporarily adhere to the bottom edge of the machine room side wall 211 due to surface tension, and the tendency for the water to mainly flow from top to bottom. Taking advantage of this, the first inclined portion 218 and the second inclined portion 219 guide the water to the upper cover 31a side or the right side panel 31d side of the housing 31.

In this way, the first inclined portion 218 and the second inclined portion 219 prevent water that has seeped into the machine room 36 from the contact surface between the first recess C1 and the first flange portion 131, and the contact surface between the second recess C2 and the second flange portion 141 from entering the center of the machine room 36, and the water can be drained outside the housing 31 through the drainage portion of the bottom plate 31f by running along the front panel 31b and right side plate 31d of the housing 31.
