Description
This disclosure relates to an anti-slip structure for preventing drums loaded on the deck surface, which is the upper surface of a pallet, from slipping off the deck surface of the pallet, particularly drums filled with sludge containing an acidic liquid, and a method for loading drums onto a pallet.
The sulfuric acid production process in a copper smelter includes a dust washing and recovery process for smelting exhaust gas containing SO2 gas. The sludge containing the acid liquid recovered in the washing and recovery process is transported outside the system. At this time, the sludge is dehydrated, and then filled into drums. A number of drums (for example, four drums) are loaded onto the deck surface of a pallet, and the pallet loaded with the drums is transported by a transport container.
The deck surface of the pallet on which the drums are loaded is flat, making the loaded items such as drums slippery. For this reason, during the process of transporting the sludge outside the system, the drums may slip off the pallet due to impact when loading with a forklift, during transport in a transport container, or when unloading with a forklift. In addition, at this time, the bottom of the drum may break, causing sludge wet with acid liquid to leak from the bottom and contaminate the inside and outside of the transport container. Thus, using drums to transport sludge containing acid liquid poses safety and environmental risks.
In response to this, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2001-130571 discloses a pallet in which grooves are formed on the deck surface into which ribs protruding from the bottom of drums fit. Also, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2009-196663 discloses a pallet in which imaginary circles are drawn in the sections of the deck surface in which drums are loaded, with the imaginary circles centered at approximately the center of the section and with the same radius as the radius of the drums, and outer anti-slip materials are provided in positions on the imaginary circles that correspond to approximately half of each of the two sides of the adjacent sections via the corners of the deck section, straddling the imaginary circles and extending to the inside and outside of the imaginary circles.
The techniques of JP 2001-130571 A and JP 2009-196663 A are considered to be able to prevent drums from slipping off the deck surface of the pallet to a certain extent. However, when attempting to provide a drum anti-slip structure on the pallet side, the problem of the labor required to process the pallet arises. In addition, in order to prevent the mixed-in pallet after processing with other pallets, it is necessary to prepare a separate pallet storage area for the processed pallet and store it separately, and to return the processed pallet to the dust cleaning and recovery process. In addition, the technique of providing a drum anti-slip structure on the pallet side requires the drums to be placed in a predetermined position on the deck surface of the pallet, which is problematic in that it is laborious to align them. Furthermore, inexpensive recycled drums are also used to transport sludge so that they can be used as disposables, but the bottom surface of these recycled drums may be deformed, such as oval, and there is also the problem that the drum anti-slip structure on the pallet side cannot be applied to such recycled drums with deformed bottom surfaces.
The present disclosure aims to provide an anti-slip structure for drums that can prevent drums from sliding off the deck surface of a pallet due to impact or the like during the process of transporting sludge containing acidic liquids while using a general-purpose pallet with a flat deck surface.
The present disclosure also aims to provide a means for effectively preventing a drum from slipping off the deck surface of a pallet due to an impact during transportation or handling, damaging the bottom of the drum, and causing sludge wet with acid liquid to leak from the bottom and contaminate the inside and outside of the transport container.
According to one aspect of the present disclosure, an anti-slip structure for drums to be loaded on the deck surface of a pallet is placed on the deck surface of the pallet. The anti-slip structure is characterized in that it is constructed by stacking, from the deck surface side, a first cardboard, an anti-slip sheet, a protective sheet, and a second cardboard in that order.
It is preferable that the protective sheet has a vertical width greater than the vertical width of the deck surface and a horizontal width greater than the horizontal width of the deck surface. In other words, the protective sheet has an outer peripheral portion that is rolled up and fixed to the side of the drum can loaded on the second cardboard. In this case, it is preferable that the first cardboard, the non-slip sheet, and the second cardboard have vertical and horizontal widths that are the same as or slightly smaller than the vertical and horizontal widths of the deck surface.
The protective sheet is preferably made of a transparent nylon sheet.

A method for loading drums according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes:
A step of placing an anti-slip structure according to one aspect of the present disclosure on a deck surface of a pallet;
loading drums onto the anti-slip structure; and
A step of rolling up a portion of the protective sheet that is located outside the drum can and fixing it to a side surface of the drum can;
The present invention is characterized by comprising:
In the drum loading method, when multiple drums are loaded onto the deck surface of the pallet, it is preferable to include a step of fastening the multiple drums to each other with cable ties.
The anti-slip structure and loading method disclosed herein can be implemented by appropriately combining the configurations of each of the above-mentioned aspects to the extent that no contradictions arise.
By applying the drum anti-slip structure according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, even when a general-purpose pallet with a flat deck surface is used, it is possible to effectively prevent the drum from slipping off the deck surface of the pallet due to impacts during transportation or handling during the process of unloading sludge containing acidic liquid.
In addition, by applying the drum loading method according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, which uses the drum anti-slip structure according to one embodiment of the present disclosure, even if the drum slides off the deck surface of the pallet due to an impact during transportation or handling, damaging the bottom of the drum and causing sludge wet with acidic liquid to leak, the protective sheet that constitutes the anti-slip structure can effectively prevent the sludge from contaminating the inside and outside of the transport container.
In this way, the technology disclosed herein is of great industrial value because it can significantly reduce safety and environmental risks during the process of transporting sludge containing acidic liquids.
Below, we will explain an example of an anti-slip structure for drums according to one embodiment of the present disclosure and a method for loading drums using said anti-slip structure, but the contents of this disclosure are not limited to these contents and can be improved and modified as necessary, and these examples of improvements and modifications are also included in the contents of this disclosure.
<Anti-slip structure for drums>
1 to 4 are perspective and front views that show a schematic diagram of the drum anti-slip structure and drum loading method of the present embodiment. The drum anti-slip structure (1) of the present embodiment is placed on the deck surface (3) of a pallet (2). The anti-slip structure (1) can be constructed by stacking a first corrugated cardboard (4), an anti-slip sheet (5), a protective sheet (6), and a second corrugated cardboard (7) in this order from the deck surface (3) side.
The drum can (8) used in this example can be of any type, but examples include the types of drums commonly used in this field, such as 200 L drums. In addition, since the sludge will damage the container during the sludge removal process, it is preferable for the container to be disposable for removing the sludge. Recycled drums are often used because they are made of metal, have a suitable strength, are widely distributed, and are inexpensively available. The drum can (8) used in this example also includes such recycled drums.
The type of pallet (2) used in this example is also arbitrary, and metal, synthetic resin, and wooden pallets can be used. In this example, a general-purpose pallet with a flat deck surface can be used, but the technology disclosed herein can also be applied to a pallet with an anti-slip structure on the deck surface. Normally, for example, a total of four drums (8) can be loaded on the deck surface (3) of the pallet (2). However, depending on the size of the deck surface (3) of the pallet (2) and the size of the drums (8), more than four drums (8) can be loaded, and even if there is room on the deck surface (3), it is acceptable to load only one, two, or three drums (8).
The first corrugated cardboard (4) and the second corrugated cardboard (7) have the function of preventing damage to the anti-slip sheet (5) and the protective sheet (6) when the drums are loaded. More specifically, the first corrugated cardboard (4) has the function of preventing unevenness or splinters on the surface of the pallet (2), or dirt or gravel on the pallet (2), from digging into the anti-slip sheet (5) and the protective sheet (6). The second corrugated cardboard (7) also has the function of allowing the ribs around the bottom of the drum to dig in, thereby holding the drum (8) in a specified position. General-purpose corrugated cardboard sheets can be applied to the first corrugated cardboard (4) and the second corrugated cardboard (7).
The anti-slip sheet (5) has the function of increasing the friction between the first cardboard (4) and the curing sheet (6) to prevent the drum (8) from slipping off the deck surface (3) of the pallet (2) due to impact. The anti-slip sheet (5) can be made of, for example, materials with excellent elasticity such as natural rubber, synthetic rubber (chloroprene rubber, isoprene rubber, butadiene rubber), silicone rubber, various fluororubbers, and non-woven fabric sheets made of polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyester, a blend of polyester and rayon, or a blend of cellulose fiber and polyester. It is also possible to use, as the anti-slip sheet (5), an anti-slip sheet having an anti-slip coating made of anti-slip processing or silicone formed on one or both sides of the non-woven fabric sheet as the base material.
The protective sheet (6) has the function of protecting the pallet (2). Specifically, the drum can (8) may be corroded by the acidic liquid seeping out from the sludge in the drum can (8), or the drum can (8) may be worn down by the sludge, resulting in small holes on the bottom or side of the drum can (8), especially on the bottom. In this case, the acidic liquid may seep out from the small holes on the bottom or side of the drum can (8). Furthermore, due to impacts during the transportation process, larger gaps may be formed on the bottom or side of the drum can (8) due to these small holes, and the sludge wet with the acidic liquid may leak out. A typical pallet has many large and small irregularities such as forklift claws and wooden pores, so if sludge or acidic liquid adheres to it, it will take a lot of effort to restore it. In contrast, by using an acid-resistant material that prevents the penetration of sludge and acidic liquid as the protective sheet (6), even if sludge or acidic liquid adheres to it, it is only necessary to wash it off the protective sheet (6). Therefore, it is preferable that the protective sheet (6) is thin, lightweight, and flat in shape, and a protective sheet (6) having such a shape can be lifted up and any part of the sheet can be washed away.
The protective sheet (6) may be made of, for example, nylon, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, or a durable composite material such as tarpaulin. From the viewpoint of improving visibility when checking for sludge leakage from the bottom of the drum (8), it is preferable that the protective sheet (6) is transparent. Also, from the viewpoint of preventing sludge leakage from the protective sheet (6), it is preferable to use a protective sheet made of nylon, which has excellent chemical resistance.
In this example, the curing sheet (6) has a vertical width greater than the vertical width of the deck surface (3) of the pallet (2) and a horizontal width greater than the horizontal width of the deck surface (3) of the pallet (2). As a result, after the drum can (8) is loaded onto the deck surface (3) of the pallet (2), as shown in Figures 3 and 4, the portion of the curing sheet (6) that is located outside the drum can (8), i.e., the outer peripheral portion of the curing sheet (6), can be rolled up and fixed to the side of the drum can (8). With this configuration, even if the sludge leaks outward from the side of the drum can (8), it is possible to effectively prevent the sludge from leaking further from the curing sheet (6). In addition, when the adhesion is on the front or back surface of the curing sheet (6), there is also the advantage that it is possible to narrow down whether the source of the adhesion is on the pallet (2) depending on the location of the adhesion. The size of the protective sheet (6) is preferably such that, when rolled up, it can enclose at least 1/10 of the height of the drum can (8), more preferably 1/5 to 1/2 of the height of the drum can (8), and even more preferably 1/4 to 1/3 of the height of the drum can. Alternatively, in comparison with the vertical and horizontal widths of the deck surface (3) of the pallet (2), the vertical and horizontal widths are preferably about 1.2 to 2.0 times the vertical and horizontal widths of the deck surface (3), and more preferably about 1.3 to 1.5 times the vertical and horizontal widths of the deck surface (3).
It is preferable that the protective sheet (6) is thin so that it can be easily rolled up, but from the viewpoint of strengthening leakage prevention, it is preferable to double it. In that case, it is more preferable that the protective sheet (6) is composed of two protective sheets and another anti-slip sheet inserted between them.
The length and width of the first cardboard (4), the anti-slip sheet (5), and the second cardboard (7) can be any width and length, but it is preferable that they are the same as or slightly smaller than the length and width of the deck surface (3) of the pallet (2). However, even if they are smaller than the length and width of the deck surface (3), it is preferable that they are large enough to accommodate the entire drum (8) loaded on the anti-slip structure (1) (if multiple drums (8) are loaded, all of the drums (8)) placed on it.
<Drum can loading structure>
In the method for loading drums in this example, first, the first cardboard (4), the anti-slip sheet (5), the protective sheet (6), and the second cardboard (7) are stacked in that order on the deck surface (3) of the pallet (2), thereby placing and constructing the anti-slip structure (1) on the deck surface (3) of the pallet (2).
Next, using a transport device such as a drum lift, drums (four drums in this example) filled with sludge containing acidic liquid are loaded onto the anti-slip structure (1) placed on the deck surface (3) of the pallet (2).
Furthermore, the portion of the protective sheet (6) of the anti-slip structure (1) that is located outside the placed drum (8) is rolled up, and the rolled up portion of the protective sheet (6) is fixed to the side of the drum (8) using any fixing tape (9) or the like. In other words, an enclosure is formed consisting of the portion of the protective sheet (6) that is placed under the drum (8) (bottom portion) and the portion that is fixed to the side of the drum (8) (peripheral wall portion). This makes it possible to keep sludge inside the enclosure when it leaks from the bottom of the drum (8).
In this example, multiple drums (8) are loaded onto the deck surface (3) of the pallet (2), and so cable ties (10) are used to secure the drums (8) to one another to prevent them from tipping over during transport.
Finally, a polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene packaging sheet (not shown) is wrapped around the pallet (2) and drum (8) to secure the drum (8) to the pallet (2).
The pallet (2) on which the drums (8) are placed is then loaded into a transport container by a transport device such as a forklift. At the destination, the pallet (2) is unloaded from the transport container by a transport device such as a forklift, and the packaging can then be removed.
A wooden pallet (1150mm x 1150mm x 150mm) was used.
The anti-slip structure used was a first cardboard (1100mm x 1100mm), a polyethylene anti-slip sheet (1100mm x 1100mm), a transparent nylon protective sheet (1800mm x 1800mm), and a second cardboard (1100mm x 1100mm).
The first cardboard, anti-slip sheet, protective sheet, and second cardboard were placed in that order on the deck surface of the pallet to create an anti-slip structure on the deck surface.
Four 200-liter drums filled with sludge containing an acidic liquid were loaded in sequence onto the anti-slip structure using a drum lift. The drums were then secured together with cable ties, and finally, polyvinyl chloride packaging sheets were wrapped around the pallet and drums.
Pallets loaded with drums were loaded into shipping containers using a forklift, transported, and then unloaded at the destination using a forklift several times, but during none of the processes did the drums slip off.
