Abstract
Description

Claims (14)
- コントローラを含む双安定電気光学ディスプレイを駆動する方法であって、前記双安定電気光学ディスプレイは、行および列に配置されたピクセルのマトリックスを有し、前記ピクセルは、
第1の光学状態から第2の光学状態への遷移を受ける一次ピクセルと、
前記一次ピクセルに直接隣接した二次ピクセルであって、前記二次ピクセルは、第3の光学状態から第4の光学状態への遷移を受ける、二次ピクセルと、
前記二次ピクセルに直接隣接した三次ピクセルと
を含み、
前記二次ピクセルは、ある行またはある列における前記一次ピクセルと前記三次ピクセルとの間にあり、前記三次ピクセルは、光学状態遷移を受けず、
前記方法は、
a)前記コントローラから前記双安定電気光学ディスプレイに第1の更新を提供することであって、前記第1の更新は、前記一次ピクセルへの第1の波形、前記二次ピクセルへの第3の波形、および前記三次ピクセルへの第5の波形を含む、ことと、
b)前記コントローラから前記双安定電気光学ディスプレイに第2の更新を提供することと
を含み、
前記第2の更新は、前記一次ピクセルへの第2の波形、前記二次ピクセルへの第4の波形、および前記三次ピクセルへの無波形を含み、
前記第1の光学状態と第2の光学状態とは、カラーまたはグレースケールにおいて異なる一方、前記第3の光学状態と第4の光学状態とは、カラーおよびグレースケールにおいて同一である、方法。 - 前記第3の波形、前記第4の波形、および前記第5の波形の全ては、同一の光学状態を生成する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記コントローラから前記双安定電気光学ディスプレイに第3の更新を提供することをさらに含み、前記第3の更新は、前記一次ピクセルへの第6の波形、前記二次ピクセルへの前記第3の波形、および前記三次ピクセルへの無波形を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。

- 前記電気泳動ディスプレイは、マイクロカプセル層内に配置された電気泳動媒体を備えている、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記電気泳動ディスプレイは、マイクロセル内に配置された電気泳動媒体を備えている、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記双安定電気光学ディスプレイは、色フィルタアレイを備えている、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記双安定電気光学ディスプレイは、少なくとも10個の一次ピクセルと、少なくとも10個の二次ピクセルと、少なくとも10個の三次ピクセルとを備えている、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記一次ピクセルは、前記双安定電気光学ディスプレイ上に表示される画像のエッジを画定する、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記双安定電気光学ディスプレイは、少なくとも1,000個のピクセルを備えている、請求項9に記載の方法。
- 前記ピクセルのうちの20%以下が、一次ピクセルである(一次ピクセル数/ピクセルの総数)、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記双安定電気光学ディスプレイは、少なくとも16個の異なるカラーまたはグレーレベルを生成することが可能である、請求項1に記載の方法。
