"Waste separation device" refers to a separation device capable of separating waste and/or dust from an intake air stream, for example a filtration device using at least one filter medium or a cyclone device using at least one cyclone. do. In the following waste and/or dust will be referred to as "waste".
For this type of hand-held vacuum cleaner, the suction efficiency, the waste storage capacity in the removable tank, the miniaturization, and the weight reduction are important so that the hand-held vacuum cleaner can remain easy to handle. A compromise has been sought for several years.
In order to miniaturize the handheld vacuum cleaner and reduce its external dimensions, some manufacturers, for example, seek to reduce the thickness of the inner and outer walls of the handheld vacuum cleaner, while others Manufacturers seek to reduce the size of suction units. Reducing the thickness of the inner or outer wall of a hand-held vacuum cleaner generally comes at the expense of its robustness, thus reducing the overall life of hand-held vacuum cleaners that are more sensitive to impacts, for example. Decrease. Reducing the size of the suction unit without changing the motor technology is often accompanied by a reduction in suction power and suction performance.

To this end, the invention provides

- a handle connected to the vacuum cleaner housing;
an air intake through which air can be drawn by a handheld vacuum cleaner;
at least one exhaust port through which cleaned air may exit the handheld vacuum cleaner;
- an airflow circuit extending between an air inlet and an air outlet;
a suction unit mounted in the airflow circuit, the suction unit comprising an electric motor and a fan coupled to the electric motor for generating an airflow in the airflow circuit from the inlet to the outlet; and,

According to the invention, the suction unit casing comprises a second wall that at least partially covers the first wall. The second wall is spaced apart from the first wall and extends at least partially between the first wall and the second wall in an interior space of the handheld vacuum cleaner. define
The present invention makes it possible to provide an interior space within the handheld vacuum cleaner adjacent to the suction unit. This internal space is formed in the casing of the suction unit. In other words, the walls of the casing of the suction unit make it possible to provide a protective casing around the suction unit and define a functional internal space within the vacuum cleaner, i.e. the airflow duct. A portable vacuum to form or, for example, a noise attenuator or damper, an electronic board for controlling or operating a portable vacuum cleaner, or a filter that is part of an airflow circuit. Allows to create an interior space designed to accommodate the functional sub-assemblies of the vacuum cleaner.
Providing such an interior space that resides directly within the suction unit casing while being functional to the hand-held vacuum cleaner would not have been possible if such an interior space had not been incorporated into the suction unit casing. , allowing a reduction in the number of walls that would have been necessary to create a hand-held vacuum while maintaining instrument robustness and without altering the performance of the vacuum cleaner. To make a vacuum cleaner lighter and more compact.
Additionally, the handheld vacuum cleaner may have one or more of the following features, employed alone or in combination.
Advantageously, the first wall and the second wall of the suction unit casing are made in one piece. The first wall and the second wall are obtained, for example, by plastic injection molding.
This feature makes the suction unit casing easier to manufacture.
Advantageously, the electric motor comprises an output shaft having a rotation axis, the output shaft being coupled to the fan.
The first wall and the second wall are partially annular in shape about the axis of rotation. The first wall and the second wall thus define a partially annular interior space around the suction unit. With this configuration, the interior space does not extend all the way around the suction unit. For example, the interior space could have a "C" shape extending partially around the suction unit. To meet the needs of a particular vacuum cleaner configuration, the "C" shaped interior space facilitates providing through channels, for example, for electrical wires or air ducts that do not pass through the interior space. This arrangement thus allows optimizing the interior space in the presence of constraints such as, for example, through-channels of wires or ducts that cannot pass through the interior space.
Advantageously, the first wall and the second wall are of annular shape, eg tubular or frustoconical, substantially coaxial with the axis of rotation. The first wall and the second wall thus at least partially define an annular interior space extending around the suction unit.
This configuration allows optimizing the internal space extending around the suction unit. Large functional subassemblies such as, for example, dust filters can be placed in this annular interior space while limiting their impact on the outer diameter of the hand-held vacuum cleaner.
Advantageously, the first wall and the second wall are connected by at least one connecting wall. The first wall, the second wall and the connecting wall are made in one piece, preferably in one piece obtained by plastic injection molding. This configuration facilitates manufacturing the suction unit casing.
Advantageously, the connecting wall extends radially with respect to the rotation axis of the electric motor between the first wall and the second wall.
Advantageously, the connecting wall is in the form of an annular disc.
In an alternative embodiment the first wall and the second wall are connected by a connecting arm. In this case, the first wall, the second wall and the connecting arm are advantageously made in one piece, preferably in a single piece obtained by plastic injection moulding.
Advantageously, the suction unit casing comprises an access opening for accessing the interior space. The connecting wall is preferably formed on the side of the suction unit casing opposite the access opening.
The access opening allows easy insertion or removal of removable subassemblies of the vacuum cleaner, such as removable filters. The access opening also makes it easier to remove the suction unit casing from the mold, thus making it easier to manufacture, especially if it is obtained in one piece by plastic injection molding. .
Advantageously, the interior space formed between the first wall and the second wall forms a chamber or duct located on the airflow circuit. Airflow generated by the suction unit passes through the chamber or duct when the handheld vacuum cleaner is activated. If the interior space forms a duct, this is typically an air flow duct for conveying air within the handheld vacuum cleaner. When the interior space forms a chamber, this chamber is for housing functional subassemblies of the handheld vacuum cleaner, such as filters, noise attenuators or dampers, which form part of the airflow circuit. can be used. The defined interior space can thus create or receive the essential configuration for a handheld vacuum cleaner.
Advantageously, the interior space extending between the first wall and the second wall forms a filter chamber in which a filter, preferably a removable filter, is arranged, the filter chamber and the filter comprising: Arranged in the airflow circuit, through which the airflow generated by the suction unit passes when the hand-held vacuum cleaner is activated. The filter chamber and filter are arranged in the airflow circuit downstream of the suction unit.
The interior space is also designed to receive a filter that is part of the upstream part of the airflow circuit, i.e. upstream of the suction unit, but the interior space may be formed next to or around the suction unit. If this interior space is used as a filter chamber and the removable filter is part of the downstream part of the airflow circuit, i.e. part of the airflow circuit downstream of the suction unit, the pressure loss and overall size From a point of view, it allows to further optimize the airflow circuit.
Advantageously, the filter chamber is at least partially defined by the first wall, the second wall and the connecting wall. The access opening allows filters to be installed or removed.
Advantageously, the filter chamber and filter have an annular shape extending around the suction unit.
Advantageously, the filter chamber comprises at least one air inlet formed in the connecting wall. The air inlet of the filter chamber is in pneumatic communication with the air outlet of the suction unit, the filter chamber having at least one air outlet formed in the second wall.
Advantageously, the first wall has no openings.
Advantageously, at least part of the second wall forms at least one wall of the vacuum cleaner housing.
This configuration makes it possible to define an interior space between walls that are already present in conventional vacuum cleaners. Thus, the interior space can be formed with fewer walls than in a conventional vacuum cleaner, making the handheld vacuum cleaner even lighter and more compact. This arrangement also allows maximizing the internal space between the protective casing of the suction unit and the vacuum cleaner housing. Furthermore, since the first wall and the second wall are part of the same single piece part, forming an internal space between the protective casing of the suction unit and the vacuum cleaner housing is Doesn't change the robustness of the handheld vacuum cleaner in this location.
When the second wall forms the wall of the vacuum cleaner housing, the at least one air outlet is an exhaust outlet. This arrangement limits the number of ducts in the handheld vacuum cleaner and makes it possible to simplify it.
Advantageously, the second wall of the suction unit casing is arranged between the removable tank and the rear part of the vacuum cleaner housing in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the motor.
Advantageously, the access opening providing access to the interior space faces the removable tank.
According to this configuration of the invention, when the removable tank is removed from the vacuum cleaner housing, functional subassemblies of the cleaner, such as the removable filter, are easily accessible from the interior space through the access opening. can be removed at When the removable tank is attached to the vacuum cleaner housing, the removable filter is rendered inaccessible and cannot be removed from the interior space through the access opening.
Advantageously, the separating device is housed in a removable tank, so that the separating device can be separated from the vacuum cleaner housing together with the removable tank.
This construction allows removal of the separation device with the removable tank, after which it is easy to remove and clean.
Advantageously, the removable tank is removably attached to the vacuum cleaner housing and contacts the vacuum cleaner housing via a contact surface formed on the vacuum cleaner housing.
Advantageously, the contact surface is substantially annular and the interior space and the access opening are radially formed within the substantially annular contact surface.
Advantageously, the contact surface is formed by a substantially annular axial end of the second wall of the suction unit casing.
A substantially annular contact surface can easily be achieved at the second wall of the suction unit casing so that when the tank is attached to the vacuum cleaner housing, the removable tank is evenly spaced with the vacuum cleaner housing. allow contact. Even contact of the removable tank with the vacuum cleaner housing facilitates achieving a tight seal in this contact area.
The removable tank may be attached in various ways, in particular by a snap-on joint with at least one notch and locking latch, by a bayonet-type joint, by a threaded joint, or by any other means known to those skilled in the art. It can be attached to the vacuum cleaner housing.
Advantageously, the waste separation device is a cyclone separator having a main shaft coaxial with the rotation axis of the electric motor output shaft.
