このタイプの水栓には節水コマという水栓内の通常コマと取り換えることにより、節水を目的とした部品が別途販売されている。
節水コマは一般コマに比べて、初期の吐水量に制限を加え、ひねり角度、回転数を増すことにより最終的には一般コマと同様の最大吐水量が得られる様になっており、初期吐水量の細かいコントロールを可能とし、節水に寄与している。この様に従来型の水栓については節水のための別途部品が用意される程に、節水が意識されている。With a general "twist" type faucet, one can relatively clearly recognize how much water is being supplied from the faucet by the rotation angle and number of rotations of the grip of the faucet.
