複数の核廃棄物部分を核廃棄物キャニスタの筐体の内容積の中に設置することであって、前記筐体は、前記核廃棄物部分を地下層内に形成された方向性掘削孔の有害廃棄物処分場内に貯蔵するように構成されている、ことと、
前記内容積内および前記複数の核廃棄物部分間の空隙を固体または半固体粒状物質で実質的に充填することと、
前記核廃棄物キャニスタの前記内容積をシールし、前記複数の核廃棄物部分および前記固体または半固体粒状物質を封入することと
を含む、方法。 - 前記核廃棄物部分は、使用済み核燃料(SNF)アセンブリの複数のSNFロッドを備えている、請求項14に記載の方法。
